Thanks Randy - I think I stumbled into doing it right. The first picture is of the new rudder setup. The second one is of it from behind. the third photo is of the original setup. there is one of it on the water - no cowl.

I tightened up the lines so that there is no play in them now. I haven't had a chance to run it yet but I believe that will fix the problem I was having. Really looking forward to getting to run her wide open.
Question: On the Pipe, I really need to do something quick to keep it from rusting. I have a friend that does powdercoat. Will that work or what do you all recommend? I was thinking some good spray paint, maybe something for grills might work good.

Clean it good and paint with "header paint" from Auto Parts store
Clean parts first and wipe with gease remover
I use VHT and bake in old small oven outside ....... works well on small parts
don't bake it inside the house - fumes real bad u can also bake it but running boat and letting heat up and cool down a few times ... don't touch it till it's baked either way ....

SCGoFast- could you tell me what the hull itself weighs please. I really love the look of this boat and i've been wanting to do a battery powered rig for a while now. This thing would look sweet doing a fly-by at 90+ !!

Nitroflux - You'll want to speak with my builder Rick Jacobson at Central RC Hobbies for a list of the hardware, manufacturers and prices. The guy is top notch and will be able to give you the info on the hardware.

Most boats will pull to the right due to prop walk, not much you can do except put left trim into the rudder. Make sure there is no slack on your push pull rudder system as this will cause problems with running straight as well.

As soon as I settle on what boat I want next I'm going to give you guys a ring. Right now it's between the New 59 Outerlimits SV which I know the Redline 29 would push really nice or another 54" Mystic Sport that I'm thinking about letting Keith Bradley build for me in FE with some ridiculously over powered huge electric motor in it. Maybe even twins.
The reliable speeds I'm getting out of the Quickdraw Pioneer 29 is no doubt great. Spent this last season just getting used to driving the boat. As soon as the weather permits I am going to start making carb and prop adjustments to see if i can get her dialed in like you guys do.
For the record I haven't seen one video where a Redline engine wasn't pushing something to it's limits. Have heard nothing but good things about Redline all the way around.
