You could put a clutch on if you want, I would not advise it, you will need a water pump as well as having to shorten the flex shaft, stuffing tube then new mounts. I would strip the engine then rebuild (or replace if it is really bad) with new cylinder and piston, looks like it should not take too much work.

Don't expect it to fly and you will be OK, should get you going.

Enjoy it.

I was going to replace the engine. so your saying it will be slow? how can I make it fast? I didnt think I would have the room for a clutch and one guy I talked to said he was not sure if I could push the engine back far enough for a clutch. I saw a dude at the lake with a blackjack 55 and if I can beat one of them I would be happy.

looks like it may just need a piston and cylinder....if it does you can go to gizmo site http://www.gizmomotors.com/index.php...=159&Itemid=56 and he sells lotsof diferent top end kits other wise just buy a new motor. You will need a good tuned pipe as well.
as for preformance it should go ok....

Skip the clutch. Hydros and clutches dont play well together. Miss bud needs all the help she can get and using a clutch will probably cost you more speed/performance than in just about any other boat.

An old thread on mods and hopups done to the Miss Bud can be found here - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_49...tm.htm#4900779
