Simple
change your switch to one with charge line in and run charge line to outside of box - switch like SWH13 or 14

Palmen,
I fit a drink bottle lid to my radio boxes and have the switch and charge jack under the lid
Won't let me upload photos at the moment, got the photo to load.

Cheers

I put a hole through the top of the radio box cover, approx. 3/4" which I can pull out thecharge pig-tail in order to charge. Once charged, put pig-tail back in boxand reseal with radio boxtape. Not much trouble at all.

Drill a hole in the lid to fit either a full-sized boat drain plug or livewell plug. Attach a piece of fishing line to the charging plug. When you remove the boat plug the wire will come out. You can also keep the hole open to get rid of condensation when not running.

A guy I race with had his radio box blow up in his face due to charging the batteries in there. Suffered hearing loss and burns to his face. NiMH batteries vent while charging and that little spark when removing the plug was enough to set it off.

Yep. Figured someone would bring this up and I'm glad.

I don't trust these batteries and I do feel like the battery pack needs to be taken out to charge in an area where it won't cause a bunch of damage etc if it takes a cr@p.

I mean really, how much trouble is it to open a box up anyway when you consider the other things we are/should be doing to handle proper maintenance? JMO

Paul, that is an excellentpoint! Especially when using newer type batteries with balance and charge leads. A little more tape, not a very big deal!
