Gizmo's 29.5CC Pro Race Top End
Any experience out there with this top end upgrade kit from Gizmo??
http://www.gizmomotors.com/index.php...cyl-kit-detail
I have been thinking about getting one to upgrade my RCMK S265 Evo Engine.
Currently it is in an unused state and mounted into a WH Manta Ray, with a wet pipe.
Any first hand expereience would be appreciated.
Also, do you think I could still run it with the wet pipe, or will i need to invest in a dry system......
Thanks,
Mike

The GZ top end kits make big time power. When you order be sure to state what crank ( 28 or 29mm stroke ) when you order. Stock S254 has 28mm and 28.5cc's The K30 29 stroke makes a 29.5
dump the wet pipe.
dump the wet pipe.

Thanks Boss,
really thinking about getting the GZ top end.....so my RCMK 254 is new. I was thinking I should try it out first, maybe I wont feel the GZ top end kit will be necessary. Is it ok to do a top end mod to a used engine, or is it advisable to perform this upgrade on a new engine.
Regarding pipes....I was thinking of maybe getting a Stainless Steel hot pipe from a company called Arrow shark.......
Have you ever heard of this company??? Good/Bad or indifferent???? Maybe I'll post a question about Arrow Shark
Thanks again for your input....appreciated

S254 is a great engine, You may find it has all the power you can use. One thing does need to be changed.. Replace the starter with a zenoah ez start. The stock starter is complete junk.and will fail the first time you use it.. If you feel the need it can be upgraded any time as long as it's in good condition..
If your WHH pipe is the standard zero band just replace the header/ flange with a dry type and your in business.

Just curious what you find wrong with the stock RCMK pull start? Only asking since i have had a stock RCMK pull start on my QD25ht engine for over a year with over 100 pulls on starter and it still works PERFECT with no sign of breaking. Only thing i done before putting on QD was changed plastic starter pawl to an aluminum pawl.
I took the easy-start pull start off my 2 brand new QDP29 and 26 and sold them. The standard pullstarts work perfect for me also so really dont see the need for an easy start. If its hard to start, its must be a reason why. Of all my race engines...rc boats, motocross bikes(nephews),125cc shifter kart and offshore powerboat,i find that if they are tuned properly they start very easily!!!

Ive sold quite a few RCMK engines this past year and not had one return or customer tell me there pullstart failed nor that they had trouble starting them either, ooops head down ready for the bullets
Can only go by my experience with them and feedback received.

The later RCMK starters should come with the alloy pawl now,iv got a new here from i keep as spare so not as bad as what they used to be ,but on high compression engines EZ is defo way to go
If you do decide to upgrade you have to match the transfer ramps from crankcase to cylinder top and go with the K30 topkit and 1mm stroker crank with walbro 1048 carb
and Zippkits pipe is a great pipe on them

Or you can just install the k30s +1mm crank into the evo, add another gasket to get the clearance and your good to go.Basicly the same as the 264 evo engines at Gizmo.27 cc.

Good to hear the RCMK starters are working for you. The GZ28.5 top end kit bolts right on your S254.You will need a EZ starter to reliably start it. The K30 cylinders have been on backorder from RCMK and are due soon.

Thanks boss....so which would give me better performance...the k30 top end or the gz28.5 pro mod? I know they used to offer a pro mod k30 but n9t sure if the will even offer the pro mod k30 top end..but if they did...which is better? Or would they be basically the same

Don't forget the deck height on a RCMK case is .010 shorter than a Zenoah case is so you either have to let them know so they trim less off the base or order a thicker gasket to run.

Check out the video in the link. It's a ZEN 300 lower with the Gizmo top end your referring to, just to give you an idea of it's performance. We have yet to tune the pipe length & strut adjustments to fine tune it. I drive that boat for the president of our club and was just trying to get a feel for it in this video. We ran it again later in the morning and that's the run I should've recorded. I had it hooked up!
