Question thru bottom of hull or transom

Question:
I have a 50” fiberglass boat hull, 29cc gasoline engine anda duel rudder with prop shaft. Do I go thru the transom at the lowest point, with only half of the prop lower than the bottom of the hull or do I lower the assembly and go thru the hull using a flex shaft and a solid mounted flex housing. Please help I cannot get this information from the engine seller, the rudder seller or the boat hull manufacturer. I would like to find out where I can get this information. I have seen photos of both applications which is the best?

Hardware needs to be mounted on the transom as in the pics.Exit hole for flexshaft should be around 1/2" up measured from the vee to centre of hole.If you need any more info just ask.I know yours is adual ruder setup but same principles apply.

Thanks waveridermouldings

My Email is [email protected] please let me know ifit would be better to go thru the hull to get more of the prop in the water. Byusing the same dual rudder but lowering it as low as it will go on the transomand taking the flex shaft and housing thru the hull. I hope this way of communicationis allowed. I have never used a forum.

In my opinion it would be best as it is in the pics as this put the prop in the best position for a surface drive setup which most use nowadays.Having it set 1/2" up also allows the transom to settle and the boat will run much more stable ,also the prop will unload better.
What you describe is a sub surface setup which is a bit old school so I suppose it depends what hull you have.
