Default engine placement in hull

Building a performance international 56" fountain with dual 26cc motors. Need to know where the measurement starts to center the motors. From the complete rear of the
hull or transom? Remembering something like a 33.3% rule? Still good to go by? Any thoughts?

also another question. when mounting 2 motors together in-line. in what position do you want the pistons to be? example: do you want them going up and down together, one up and one down, or what? thanks again
