Very cool, the work you are putting into this is superb. Having watched many full size tunnels for over 40 years and a few model boats, have you thought of ever making a servo adjustable drive strut to be able to trim the boat while in motion. I know trim tabs work to a certain degree but being able to finely adjust the drive line would be very handy. All but a few models I have seen, mainly monos tend to get that cavitating bounce at some stage.
wings and foils seem to work to a degree as well but all fight against what perhaps could be sorted with slight adjustments in the thrust line. I have a couple of struts that I may have a play with to attempt to make adjustable via the addition of a bearing, control horn and servo linkage.

Zen40, You should check into the AMPS trim mechanism...Very simple and effective.. there is a thread that deals with AMPS hulls and the trim on RC Universe. They are not manufactured any more and are collectors items...the units were specifically built for nitro engines and originated in UC...the whole AMPS approach was realism with a scale look that was a miniature to the full size F-1's of the 70's - 80's...during their "heyday" there was much controversy over the cost and the fact that the AMPS set-up just wasn't competitive with the nitro gang who advocated "go fast and turn right" apposed to having to actually "drive" the hull over a course that may include left turns also...I even used the AMPS mechanism on nitro 3.5's and 7.5's...I could keep up with the "hot shoes" on the straights, but tucking the engine under to negotiate those sweeping NAMBA ovals, left me trailing. They were a great innovation that I really enjoyed...enjoy the thread !!!

Hi zen40 ,thanks for compliments its been alot of work from design, build and moulds but almost there now
as for the trim its a good idea and Eddie De Vries VP outboard has servo trim on it aswell as the AMPS like Jay stated
some1 else also made a trim system up for the MHZ drives aswell but cant remember who
Due to our club rules we have to rn inboard ,cant run exposed exhaust but would like to run stern drive on 1 at some point so still got steering from prop thrust ,as for trim quick blip of the throttle works just aswell with fixed strut ,less to go wrong and think about while driving the boat especially under race conditions
My previous F1 had abit of porpoising but soon worked out why and cured the problem and would turn on a dime aswell as been pretty fast and stable so hoping this will be the same if not better hehe will soon find out
