I ended up taking 3rd place overall in open g hydro in my first event this weekend. Got to meet some guys from Dallas and Amarillo. Tim Martin and Duane Oldfield (great guys) along with Buckshot, Jerry Wright and a few members from Wichita, Kansas. I ran side by side with Tim in open g hydro at one point. He took 1st overall out of 4 boats in the class. On the 4th heat, his whip flamed out on the back straight, the water was racing us as it was pretty rough with winds gusting 25+mph which makes are pond here in Oklahoma very rough on the back straight. I was coming up on his dead boat trying to hold it tight on the inside of the course and swore I ran him over, lol. But, when we talked after the fact, his boat showed no signs from me possibly hitting him. It was a great day and I also got some sun, lol.

I had a couple with him and Duane, lol. It was nice to put a face to the names rather than always reading what they type on a thread. I look forward to racing more in the future.

My Feedback: (1)
Tim's got the pix posted under his name, Timothy Martin or under Jims RC Boat Dock (no apostrophe). You can then check out the friends list in those groups and ask to be friends with them. After a while Facebook will suggest friends for you. I'm on there right now and I should be able to let you in the door if you need approval.

Yup!
There's a lot of good people in this hobby/sport, many who will do anything that they can to help you out. Broke your boat? Here comes a crowd to get you back on the water. I've seen it, have helped as my trailer and toolboxes are open and if I have something that'll get you back out there, it's yours. I've also had racers come to my aid. I know some of the best racers around in gas and nitro and it's been an honor to know them. Most (not all as there's always a few of them) don't let it go to their heads.
