Not a word. Sometimes Dom will stop in here and let us know what's up. Rum Runner Racing is also down, a FE boat forum site. Both seem to be vBulletin run sites like this place. I know that Jim's has been plagued with a lot of problems for a few months now kind of like this place was last year. A lot of these forum sites use a vBulletins program which is also owned by Internet Brands who now owns this site.
I really don't want to guess any further than that as I could be 180 off. When Jim's or Int'l Waters goes down a lot of their members come over here for their fix. Yeah, I'm getting DT's myself!
Usually this site doesn't like to discuss the competition but it's always been a plus for here when things like that do happen.
Some of what I typed above may be more than you're looking for but I thought that I'd throw in the little bit extra that I do know beyond speculation.

I don't recall having this many issues when they were on the other site. vBulletin run site seems to be nothing but a crash waiting to happen. Hacks, uploads, site crashes. I'd rather pay a fee than deal with the constant issues. Some people do a lot of business on Jims both public and private. Seems like it just gets a bandade and rubber band fix. Maybe the next poll should be about paying a fee to move to a more stable secure site.

A lot of us HAVE made donations over the years to help make improvements. But the disruptions are more frequent all the time. I don't think it's fair to criticize if you are just a "user" of a free site. For those that have contributed with help, advice, guidance, and the occasional $ contribution, it's still the most valuable resource in the hobby.
Frustrating, all the same!

Hi guys
perhaps its time for a complete new version of vbulletin to be installed just been looking at it its only $399 sure that wont break the bank and may solve all the issues, just a thought !.

PS. even if half the members donated just $1 each it would pay for the software ?.
