Most use the trim on the radio for the idle and completely remove the idle screw from the carb. I like to put a little thread lock on the idle screw and turn it back in just enough to where it keeps the butterfly from contacting the carbs bore when you back trigger to shut it down. This will keep from putting pressure on the butterfly shaft and butterfly, you should put a little thread lock on the set screw for the butterfly also.

My carb doesn't even have a choke, along with a lot of other sport boaters and racers setups. Just put our finger in the carbs bore (choking it) and turn it over slowly till it pops or your finger is wet, then remove your finger (opening choke) holding it wide open and crank it till it starts. Usually takes 2 to 4 pulls for it to fire.

Why do people run colman camp fuel (50-55) octane with 30:1 oil??? I understand for the smell. but it seems it would lower performance?. I take 89 octane fuel add 1 oz water shake well, and pour off the pure gas. then run 40:1 Stihl full synthic oil. Works great for me. I have 2 23cc Zenoah air cooled and 1 30cc water cooled. Any at all comments are welcome. Thanks Rob

OK, the no gas odor is just one thing. No additives that we don't need. Very long shelf life. No ethanol to ruin the diapragms. No need to touch the needles.
I just learned about the adding water to gas to remove ethanol trick just 2 days ago but I'm lazy and don't want to have to do that.

I mix my camp fuel, 8oz. of this:http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...%20Oil%20TC-W3, per 1 gallon of fuel. Some run 10oz. per 1 gallon of fuel. It's cause we're pretty much constantly high in the rpms (18,000+ on a full mod motor) as soon the boat hits the water, unless you have an "ut oh" moment.
