Default A Dasbota prop rework made a HUGE difference in performance

I bought a brand new Shockwave 55ss about 5 years ago. I have used it very little since I have lots of fast electrics and I only use my boats 2 weeks a year when I rent a lakeshore cabin. I put alot of time into balancing and sharpening props for all my boats-and I thought I did a good job on the stock 270 Pranther prop. I have probably not run more then 10 tanks of fuel through the Shockwave and it has always ran out pretty good. I'm not a racer but I like performance and so I bought a Pranther 275-after my s&b I found it actually was a bit slower the the stock 270-it was too much prop. So I read that Chris at Dasboata raced gas boats and does great work. After talking to him I sent him my 275 And he reworked it with return shipping for 40.00. I've spent alot on different drives, motors, and props over the years-but this was by far the best 40.00 I have spent on a boat. Chris cut my 275 down to about 269 and did something called a "Texas Cut"-it looks like the leading edge of the blade flattens out in the middle. After first running the boat with my stock 270 I then put on the reworked 275 and the differnce was night and day. It jumped out of the hole and just flew. I did not have my gps but it was like a completely different boat-way way faster and so much more thrilling to run. I had also bought an Octura X572 and sent that to a different well known and highly recommended prop specialist for cut down and rework at the same time I sent my Pranther 275 to Chris. The Dasboata prop looked far better, more uniform and precise-and the performace of the Pranther was better then the Octura-faster out of the hole and well faster top end. So if you want more performance out of your Shockwave before you modify your motor or anything else-try a prop from Dasboata. Sure made me smile-Thanks Chris

Chris is a good guy all around. I have one of his props on my rigger and have never taken it off.
