Do as I do, rotate the header out of the way..... Rotate back once tightened. You have o-rings in there and the header will slip. Been doing it that way since I started with gas boats many moons ago.

Plumbing is an issue, I have two pick-ups on the rudder. I have connections on the engine head, the crankcase, the exhaust manifold as well as the tuned pipe. Of course with the twin there are two of each except the case. Any thoughts guys? Another thing I've read somewhere in the forums is you don't want cold water hitting the cylinder first off.

I know BOSS330 inline boats only use the two rudder pick ups, Check out jim's r/c boat dock they have a section in there on twin gas boats.

Disassembled the K600 yesterday, discovered I must have damaged the flywheel when I removed the starter pawl. Female threaded portions inside the flywheel were cracked. Another on the way. No issues found other than that. The crank measured 17 mm and the case where it rests was 17.04 mm. I've read on other forums that the case needs to be milled down a bit. I'm not sure if that will apply to this engine though. Anybody want to weigh in on this? (Daniel)?
Al with Hanson sent me another 1"x90 header, now both pipes are parallel. I like symmetry. Also gets the pipe off of the top of the radio box. Oh yeah, replaced the radio box with a Dr Buck's Box. Liking the screw down lid opposed to using tape.

Tom, I took your advise, using 4-40 rod on the rudder, also placed it inside some brass tube, stiff as heck, also was able to remove enough material on the stringers to allow the use of the larger isolation mounts. Lost the 200 oz servo and went with the 400 oz for steering.
I have in hand the prototype windshield made of Plexiglas, the final will be stainless. Shame on me for removing too much material allowing way more inlet air than needed. Going to look nice though.Steep learning curve on this project!

I am sure you are doing a great job.I do not know the answer on your engine but I can say for certain that park does not make large runs of the inlines, and there have been a lot of improvements made over the time those motors where released and a LOT of the bad press on them no longer applies. You made a great choice in the 400oz servo.

Thanks for the kind words, The engine case is on it's way to Florida for tweaking. Rather step up now than take a chance on problems later.

drdoom - What kind of speeds are you seeing with the Osprey "Baja" in calm water? How does it perform in rough water? Thinking about putting a scale outdrive on one of these with K30RZ. Not sure how I'd route the exhaust from a rear exhaust motor back to a scale looking dual exhaust outlet at the transom...all of the dual or quad exhaust outlets have the exhaust inlet one side and not in the middle. Any idea how much distance you have from the rear of the cylinder to the transom on yours?

The osprey is a great hull for the scale drive type build,You are not going to get sport boat performance with the scale #6 type drive.the Osprey is good to around 50mph then its really out of it's realm.But for a stock motor application it's perfect. keep in mind it's a 57" boat as well so most stock motors are not going to push it past 50mph anyways. Also with what you are talking about with no tuned pipe, but a scale exhaust. your k-30 will not push this hull out of its element at all.But it has a big hatch opening giving you lots of room to work.If it was me I would just use a header from a rear exhaust tuned pipe and build the rest myself.That set up should work out nice, I think 40mph is probably where you will end up.and I think that number will be for pretty much any hull with what you are talking about for drive and power.

You got it,I am cutting a gtx down by 1"..Everything else will be our standard lay up.So I will pick up where this boat becomes different. I spent way more time farting around making my sharpie holder. But I am glad that being stupid is still fun.And it did work out really good. I have trimmed my hull and hatch like normal so I have a good edge to work off of.So now I mark my line on the hull and go to town with my cut off wheel after I use my Da sander and fine tune just a little as well as hit the outside edge some so my putty that i will use to hold the boat together while we join it from the outside bonds very well.I did not trim the deck because its all getting cut off.

Got some plumbing done, radio tuned in, Killer Bee engine cut-off switch is cool.

you are awful close,looks great. Ok so we got the boat joined and it looks pretty good,now I have to trim off the deck,and get the rails in.I am glad I was asked to do this,It has me thinking about doing one for myself.

broke out my cut off wheel and DA sander and got the deck cut down,I am putting the rails in today and will be doing some filling on this seam later on after the rails are in place and sturdy.

That had a Zenoha g-23 with a clutch.and octura hardware.that boat was built a long time ago.If I was going to do one today.I would use a Honda four stroke with a clutch.The good thing is they come with clutches,They start very easy and are SOOO quite.

Also got the hatch mounted, 8-10 lb neodymium magnets holding it on. It will NOT BLOW OFF. Making the mounts was a bear, I learned to cuss in several languages.....Hoping to get this thing in the water next week. I'm cringing at the thought of removing most of the hardware for painting..
Dasbota sent me a nice stainless prop, also Daniel Place milled the case for me. My buddy who made the windshield also made me a handy flywheel holding tool...Getting there!

That looks like a cool part.strong magnets or not make sure you glue flotation to your hatch.looking forward to seeing how it goes. also keep a eye on your water outlets and make sure they are all watering nice.
