Default Can anyone tell me anything about this boat

I bought this boat from a member on here back in july 2010. I was told it was a aeromarine hull and a zenoah redline engine. i haven't ran it in a while and plan on getting it back going. i have a new wt257 carb on the way and new lines. I was wondering if this setup is good on the boat or if anyone see any changes that i need to make. and maybe what speeds i can try and achieve. Thanks, David

Saw this boat on display at the WRAM show in NY about 8 years ago. I remember at the time questioning the stability of the setup since I do not believe this hull is normally powered by much more than a midsized nitro. But there's one way to find out.

Sorry I don't have more info. I have pics of the boat at the show but will be a few weeks before I can show them (traveling at the moment)

Man you have a good memory Thanks for the reply. I haven't ran the boat in 3 years. When I did it seems pretty stable but I didnt do any really high speed turning. It is only 36" long. The main problem I had and I plan on fixing now is the carb wouldn't stay adjusted and i kept burning the exhaust o-rings. I ordered a new carb and plan on redoing the brass tube on the back for the cooling of the exhaust. I was thinking I could tee off the tube on the rudder but that may not be enough volume to cool both. I'll post a vid when I get it going again.

Matt, you didn't say anything about the trim tabs? Most times Cat's don't need them but in this instance I might see why the previous owner used them. With that hatch it would be hard to get the motor up where it should be. Trim tabs can add length to the hull helping to move the CG further forward and not have to use weight to do it. An old trick I learned from, a very long-time OB tunnel racer.
