Build is looking awesome - great work!
You have not mentioned if you have any RC experience but will mention it just in case you do not know - any motor with an ignition coil will require you to use a resistor type spark plug - many plugs are available for our motors but they normally do not come already installed. If you do not us e a resistor spark plug - the motor will interfere with the radio control and you will not be able to drive it.

So, this is the second boat I build and I had no problems at first.
If you notice, all the electric part is in the stern. (# 28) and the command to the throttle, I used 1/8 fiberglass rod.
The distance from the receiver to the motor coil is 22 "
