Default Newb help!

Hey guys, been a long while since I've been on this site. So I'm about to start building a maxcat in a 48" version for my first real boat. I have a poulan 42cc chainsaw I got for free that I'm going to strip and rebuild the engine. What I need to know is; what modifications need to be made to the crank/flywheel of the motor to run a prop shaft? Also at what angle do I run the stuffing tube through the hull? Or is it a rear exit? Also, what about radio boxes? I work at a sheet metal shop as the lead fabricator, I'd like to use either stainless or aluminum to build my radio box, would that work? Or would that create some sort of interference? Any other help y'all have for me would be great, thanks guys!

AMPS International Hobbies did theirs like this. This was in a cat and I believe they used a belt drive behind the clutch.Chainsaws aren't the best to use,but they have been used.I don't think a metal radio box would be very good.

Chainsaw engines just aren't a good choice. They're big, heavy, the rotation is wrong why the gear reduction and reversed motor.

For the price you will spend on hardware, radio gear ect you will do yourself a huge favor to just look for a good 2nd hand Zenoha 26 from a seller with some credibility. you can fabricate your own exhaust and radio box as well as many items. even without a pipe it is a great motor and you will be 100X ahead of were you will be building around a chainsaw engine foundation. either way what ever you do have fun.
