Default New Hydro design and build

Been wanting to design and build 1 of these for a while now and after few small sketches i decided was time to do full size drawing i wanted it to be
i wanted to get the exhaust inside the hull to keep it sleek lines and looks not the easiest but with some certain regulations over here in our club i wanted to be able to race it and bring something new to the water
Once happy with drawings i started the build LOL
everything you see is done by hand and once started piecing it together hence the LOL above i started changing couple of lines till i was satisfied
Hope you like and enjoy the pics

Last pic i notice the sponson ride pad set up looks different to the average sport hydro where the ride pad is lower than the outer but on yours the ride pad meets the side outer skin which extends abit lower than the main ride pad. does this make sence to you ?

iv designed it with so the ride is at an angle/deadrise not flat 90* then a 2nd then the outer part of ride pad sits just over it creating a negative strake
I run the same design on my F1 with great results

Made more progress
topdeck skins are done still needs final sanding but will do that in 1 hit once complete
Prepped and added skin to sponson top had to use few more tacks than would of liked but wont be an issue

hi bud
yes mate designed it to have pipe inside tub to comply with the rules of our club plus keeps it looking sleeker and 1ltr fuel bag upfront so got enough fuel to last the 20-30 minute race heats

yeh i wanted to keep the sleek looks but comply with the rules cant have anymore than 65mm exposed exhaust so made sense to just hide it completely not the easiest to achieve and have sleek looks but think iv managed it LOL

Starting on the hatch , cutting the ribs now that im happy with the radius
only rough cut for now will trim and sand in pairs so they match both sides
these will be spaced apart then some high density foam cut and inserted between them and shaped

seems a shame to spend so much time on a nice wooden hydro only to use it as a glass plug hey.

Daz, it's normal rules on this side of the Big Pond in the Thunderboat classes. It might be a tight fit at the transom but it's doable. I also run the exhaust through transom of my Jersey Skiff. I get my parts through Zippkits but if you have a TFL Hobby dealer there it's the same pieces. You just need a LOT of air moving through the hull. You might have run across that with your IB tunnel hulls.
