Its a fact of life that not all posess the skil or dexterity to control a carrenning 60 mph boat careening around a course and not crash into another $2000 boat so maybe dragracin will appeal to some...

Sure drag racin would work out just fine. Of course the boats would run clutches, you could have a start/launch dock, start engines at 1 minute set boats in water and at 15 seconds intervals call out the time at the 5 sec mark the helper releases the boats the tree starts blinkin and well you know the rest. timing lights can be used or the transponders from the rc car guys. sign up all the boats shuffle the cards put em in the brackets and the winner advances the loser puts it on the trailer.

Box stock

three classes to consider

XAF
X engines..Altered hulls..Fuel

any engine lets say 65cc limit. the hulls might be like a top fuel dragster, rear mount engine ...long skinny bow section with the sponsons set in the back like a canard rigger and allow this hull to exceed 60".
Fuel can be anything....... lets say a cluster of Estes rocket motors or Alky/nitro/ glow or ignition

"PRO BOAT"
any single cylinder Gas engine.....any hull to 60"......"PUMP" gas for the fuel

"FAST BOAT"
Typical production engines
...Zenoah/Homelite/Polini/superior etc.
Piped or not (locals can decide)
Hulls can be most anything and probably a minimum limit of like 36"
"PUMP"gas for the fuel
