HJ thank you for that nice compliment. Dude, those are some serious size boats you have there! Man-size, even! Looking really good to, I´m thinking of building myself a large offshore cat next time.
Anyway, the tanks I have, are fuel/waterbottles or what ever you´d like to call them. They are supposed to hold either fuel or water, payed about a buck each for them. Extruded aluminium, screw-caps, and no internal painting. Highclass product, at low cost. Hmm...the name of the product here was Nicks Worlds sportsbottle... I have NO clue as what the product would be in US...got a pic of it tho...hang on!

They hold 0.6 liters, translates into about 0,13 gallon.

( without putting you on the spot .... )
If you DO decide to share .... put me on the list ......

But , more than likely .... it'll be a sole venture

and for that , I can't blame you one bit .

No problems guy´s, just PM me with where to send the files, and you´ll have them as soon as I get the PM...=) The more the merrier!
But, you will have to make the modifications to the deck your self, since that is not in the plans. And, the plans are cad-files, just so you know.
Yep, that´s plywood, and I actually do have a plan for a paintscheme. All metallic colours, black and red metallics... May even be some chameleon paint, but that´s just a different story. I´ll propably go with red and black metallics.

Well, I believe that depends on who layed the paint, really... But in general, if someone who does not know what he´s doing has laid the paint, it pretty much sucks. If someone with skills do it, now that´s a different story! And I happen to have a pal who´s a painter by trade....

Sigg fuel bottle or MSR fuel bottle,Sigg was the first to make them. You can get them from most back packing suppliers.Available in several sizes.Sigg has them in Red and plain.MSR has thier logo on it.Being aluminum you could have it anodized any color you want or paint or powder coat.

BTW chameleon paint is about $4800 usd a gal.

Ah, ok, here´s some new pics for yo! Added some strakes yesterday, and these pics show how they are placed. THey are not quite finished yet though...=) The green stuff is fiberglass putty, a thin layer, since my fine easysanding putty was all used up by someone..
Anywho, here´s some pics for ya...

There you go, please comment on shape, placing, and length!

Shape , good
Length , good

BUT .....

I think you put them on backwards ???[&o]

( meaning .... the should be all the way in the FRONT and fall short as it goes towards the transom .... )

Depends ... but the ones closest to the middle of the kiel ( center of bottom of vee , sould be shorter and the outer ones run the entire length of the hull . )
Seel these are what add lift to the bow and allow or make the boat get on plane and stay there .

I only have one on each side of the boat. Should I leave it as it is then? If not, please show me a pic of how the ends should be shaped, someone... I´m going fairly crazy over this right now, since I cannot go forth with the build before I decide if and how to cut those strakes...

Hope this catches you before you do TOO much "surgery" to her .
Since she looks like the SEADUCER a LOT , might I suggest you try and imitate the bottom of the SEADUCER as well ? ( chines , I mean )

Ok, I have now cut the chines, so they end about 10 inches in front of the transom. Since I only have one at each side of the keel, this was a fairly simple task. I´ll get some pics up as soon as I can. Next is fiberglassing the hull!

Captain Ramius and ash4889, where can I find those bottles? They are EXACTLY what I´ve been looking for, and I will buy myself two of those if I can get a hold of them, just to spare myself of the hazzle of building my own.

Ah, what the heck..I just went ahead and made myself a couple of gastanks..=) I´ve been trying out different things with these for a couple of day´s hence the low activity in this thread. Anyways, here´s a pic of the completed tanks, with the fill-system in place. Only thing missing in the picture is a soda-bottle with a short fuel-line and a fitting on it, for the filling of the system. The fitting on the larger "T" is a quickrelease fitting, that is supertight and closed when there is not a male fitting inserted into it. Makes for a clean and easy refueling. The tank´s are gonna sit in the boat as shown before, one on each side of the enginebay.
On to the pic....
