V24 Wet Exhaust w/pics
I made the wet exhaust on my V24.
This works REALLY well and keep header temps down much more than the dry cooling ring. And the spray from the pipe is cool too.
For the fitting I "borrowed" the hose fitting from the cooling ring. Drilled a 5/32 hole into the header and then screwed (very tight fit, VERY TIGHT to avoid leaks) the fitting into it. Fired up the engine to make sure the pipe was clean of shavings.
The header stays about 70 degrees cooler with this setup according to a temp gun.
I will eventually get another fitting and keep the ring working too. But for now it has the head cooling, manifold cooling and wet exhaust.

Your mod looks good. Did you notice any change in performance? I imagine that the water injected into the exhaust would slightly increase back pressure.

A neat job.
I would try to rethink it however. If the motor stops out on the water, the forward momentum will continue to push water into the system possibly loading your motor with water especially as the water in is higher than the exhaust port.
I had a similar setup on my jet boat which I removed, even though the water there was pumped into the system by the jet pump itself.

I'm going to hope it never happens out on the water. I haven't had a gas ignition stall on me yet.
If Tower ever gets more headers in stock I will pick one up and mount the water inlet lower on the pipe. Headers are only about 12 bucks for this thing.

hpiguy, Do you have any pics of your V24 in action?

Also you can go to www.aquacraftmodels.com and they have video of it running also.
Mine pretty much looks the same except I have a little spray from the exhaust due to the wet exhaust modification. And I think mine is a hair faster since I have adjusted trim for my waters and the engine is fully broken in.
