HULL ID?
i have aquired a hydro hull, new, it looks exactly like the pi hydro, but it has 1/8 to 3/16 stringers installed, not 1/4 inch like my stryker hull, it is gel coated all yellow and is pre joined. it has a rectangular radio opening with angled corners at the front side. i am going to laminated 1/4 stringers in to it, but am wondering if anyone has any idea of the manufactuer, i will try and post some pics later, it is 46 inches long from transom to tip of the sponson. thanks kevin

RE: HULL ID?
Posting some pics will REALLY help these guys figure out what/whose hull you have .
If it can be identified .... these guys here can do it . There are a BUNCH of VERY helpful AND knowledgable guys here . ( and not to mention some of the TOP names in RC boat racing as well )

RE: HULL ID?
thanks for the input, i looked all over and came to the assumption it was a pi boat, i cant seem to understand the 1/8 stringers? i will be glassing in 1/4 doublers along their entire length. it does appear to be built very well, i have it on the surface plate table and it has no warps. will be possibly installing my qd25 in it and see how she goes. kevin

RE: HULL ID?
It looks like an OK arrangement on the stringers. I would have completely coated that bulkhead in resin if I had done that. Just for the rot resistance and better cleaner look instead of the finger print resin smudges.
Justaddwata knows his stuff. Where the stringers go all the way back on v hulls, they should not on a Hydro. Just make sure the spot where the stuffing tube passes through the bottom is doubled up 3 - 4 inches all around and this doubling should extend to where the strut bolts up.
I would not try to add a lot of glass the full length of the stringers to start. Mount your engine and feel how they stiffen together with the structure of the engine in place. Then run it a few times and check for stress cracks. If you find it is stress cracking out the bottom, just unbolt the engine and add a layer that tapers out from the spot you find cracks. You might find that the stringers are ok and the boat will run much better lighter.
