arrow shark, there is a small problem with this boat, the carb block has 2 brass inserts, these are slightly to long and dont let the carb block sit snug, these need to be filed down, also the gasket on the bottom of the barrell blocks the ports, this needs to be cut into shape, othere wise the fuel will not pass up the ports smoothley.i am at the moment converting mine to run a sikk top end,and should have it done in a day or so,i am sure i will see a great improvement, along with a full race ported carb.will let you all know how it goes,,,,regards krc

Hay, Just got myself a Tsunami hull, the biggest facter was me living in Australia postage is about $500us for a boat from US but for the cat from Chiner it was $90.
When I got the boat I was very imprest with the quality of glass work.

I have a question for you guys with the RTR Tsunami What is the CG and would you move the CG back to make it lighter at the frount?

I think the CG is about right where it is.

I still haven't had a chance to give mine a good test yet after I've changed the carby and prop over but I think that wouldbe a better place to start.

Did you get yours from China or the the Guy from rcjets in Sydney?

oh from the transom to the spark plug is 310mm.

I'll be heading down the lake next Sunday to do some more testing to see if I need to shift the COG.

I got down the lake today for some testing. The wind was blowing at around 45kmh so it wasn't ideal conditions for boating. But here are some speed results from various props recorded on the GPS:
[ul][*]Prop Shop 7016/2 51.1 kmh 31.75 mph[*]Prop Shop 6516/3 51.9 kmh 32.25 mph[*]ABC Performance Prop MW-3 52.4 kmh 32.56 mph[*]Prop Shop 6314/3 53.6 kmh 33.31 mph[*]Prop Shop 7014/2 57.9 kmh 35.98 mph
[/ul]

So the best prop by far was the Prop Shop 7014/2.

This is still only sport boat speeds but I will see how adding a proper tuned pipe impacts on its performance. I'm just waiting on a coopers pipe with a WTC header to arrive. The coil may be holding the revs back as well so I'll try a swap over for a Zenoah coil down the track as well.

Didn't change the CG. The props were semi finished so with them properly balanced and sharpened the results should be better.

I have done some more testing. I couldn't get the stock clone engine to rev over 10000rpm which I'm guessing is due to the coil. littlepiston did you do any tests with the replacement coil?

I didn't have any plugs to wire up a zenoah coil to the clone engine so I just swapped the whole engine over with modded 231 Zen and coopers pipe. This engine in a Twincraft 46 does 85 kmh (52.82 mph). Here are the results of some testing with props

X470
13960 rpm
65.5 kmh 40.70 mph

7016/2
15120 rpm
69.7 kmh 43.31 mph

6516/3
14480
67.7 kmh 42.07 mph

7014/2
14040 rpm
71.9 kmh 44.68 mph

The hull was running very flat and I couldn't get it to lift much. I am going to bring the strut in closer to the transom which will hopefully allow better adjustments to be made. If not, then I will have to shift the CoG back to try and get the bow to lift more.

Also keep in mind that I'm running at 2000 ft above sea level so my results will be down on what the boat can do at lower altitudes.

I'm also going to send the clone engine off to be looked at to see if it will benefit from some mod work.
