Steve,

She is shaping up well. Nice work and a very good fit in that hull. Be a sight to see on the water (and probably a handfull with all that power).

Keep the pics coming!!

Thanks Matt

I appreciate your compliment and I can't wait to see it on the water myself.

I'm hoping it's not to much of a handfull !

more work today

I took everything out of the hull tonight and painted the the inside of the hull.

I used Interlux Polyuerthane one stage piant Kingston Gray, it was dry to the touch in 1 1/2 hours, it will totally dry over night .

I have used this paint before and it works great. Smells real bad for 2 or 3 days though !

This weekend it's off to the paint shop ! I will post more pic's when it gets back !

Looks good, I have a lot of catching up to do.

It cost me to paint it myself $150.00 when I say paint shop, my friend has a garage setup as a spray booth.

I will paint the boats, Signature 57 paint was $56.00 for red & white piant , $94.00 for the clear coat, clear coat will do both boats !

The paint for the MTI was $75.00 Silver and transparent blue !

I hope this helps you out !

gobblr gobble, kook a doodle doo, cluck cluck cluck, I dont know - How does a chicken go.

I have all the paints, clear coat, activators, the air brush, compressors, guns etc. They are the most intimidating tools in my shop all of a sudden.

My wife offered to paint it. She says she paints good in her mind

My Dad owned a body shop, I worked in his shop for 8 years and got some painting and body repair experience.

If you practice with your spray gun " air pressure, paint flow, thinning paint " use a practice surface to get use to your gun first,

then go to your boat.

I've got that gelcoated nightmare you can use as a test.
That's what I plan to do.

Ok,Ok, I'm not going to chicken out. I have that $30 splashed hull piece of cr** that I will practice on.

Thanks steve for all the advice you gave me last night, It got me well motivated to get it done myself.

Thanks to the rest of the members too, a lot of good info and motivation.

I'm just the opposite. I've got a bunch of parts and nothing to put them in.

I'm starting to think that piece of plywood in the driveway may actually look cool with a zen and lawnmower blade prop.

Hey Rick

Busy at work, not leaving much time for the boats right now.

The shop I'm using for painting has a 55 Chevy in it that can't be moved for a few more weeks !

Sucks , but I have to wait !

Hi all

As Rick said WOW ! 45deepvee and firefox144 back on RCU, welcome back. How are you guy's ! LOL

I have not painted the hull yet, no time with my new work schedule.

I have talked to my friend who has the shop about getting it done .It will happen soon !

I bought another boat, so now I have more work to do. This boat will be built for salt water running.

Going on vacation tomorrow , be back in a week.
