Default BIG CAT

Just came across this on Ebay. What would it take to get this baby up to 60--65 mph?

Just think of the cost of the trailer to bring it to the lake. Not to mention the 10k in engines you will need to make it fast.

Cool boat, but not for us middle class budgets.

I would mount a seat on it, get a paddle, and use it as a retreival boat.

That hull is a *** Matt aka Justaddwatta can tell you. Its a nock off from the real one that comes out of Germany if i recall correctly. Not worth the time or money playing with that.

Well , before tha bashing and slashing sessions begin ...
Might I make a suggestion to you FIRST ..

Since it just a hair over 1000 miles up to where the hull is , AND the shipping costs would be astronomically HIGH ..guess going up there to "view" the hull , yourself , would be a little far.

AND ... if your truly considering this hull , then here's the engine you might want to pick up and toss in her . ( note - anyone of them on the page will do the trick )
http://www.chiefengines.com/engines.php

personally ... unless you want a LOT of aggravation , a LOT of disappointments , and have BOO=KOO gobs of money to TOSS out the window ( hull is not worth it ) , then I would look on down the road for something of better quality .
And , if you DID get it ... I would honestly have to say , that you MIGHT be lucky to toss in on old K&B .40 nitro engine in there without the hulling breaking in half , or splitting down the middle of the bottom , or maybe just kinking up on ya .
And if its like the one DASBOATA got ( you might REALLY want to PM , or email him about the one he got ).... you would more than likely hit the 60/65 range dragging it around in the bed of your pick-up running down the interstate ( they usually run I-10 around 70 mph , so , you should be good there for that speed )

I think the MHZ 125cc Rotax engine, or two would do the job well
http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/video.as...g&store=mhzusa

The Aprilia/Rotax 125cc engine in my daughters motorbike pushes between 35-38 bhp at the back wheel and does around 120mph in a quick time, so i think 60mph should be reached easy with a tuned MHZ 125cc Rotax engine, or two in that hull ??

You guys beat me to it

Yes indeed. You can count on this being a right POS. This "master hull builder Mark Mendoza out of Canada" is as good with glass as most 2 year olds. Love to have a word or two with him someday.

Be interested in seeing what it sells for - someone will certainly be surprized. I know I am out $1300 for my *** Callan 92 that is going to need around 40 hours worth or work to make usable.

As for the idiotic claims of the seller running a blata in it. got to be kidding. The glass work is barely strong enough to support the weight of one without it running. And it would never fit inside the boat.

My advice - run from this one - Go with a genuine boat from Hanspeter !!!! My buddy just ordered one and it is less than $1800 delivered to the US.

I could not help myself - had to ask the seller a question

"Why on earth would you refer to Mark Mendoza as a MASTER BUILDER.
He is a liar, a thief and a fool. His skills with glass are infantile and he stole the design from Hanspeter Roschi.
How can you with clear conscience tout the QUALITY of such a lousy build and why the hell would you tell someone to put a blata in it
."

Just because this clown got burned with one of Marks copies does not permit him to continue the trend and burn someone else.

I think that applies to everyone - If you buy junk and get burned - deal with it - dont pass it on.

You will all note that this guy (like everyone) has done nothing to the boat as there is nothing that can be done since there is no glasswork thick enough to mount a motor or hardware to it. (You will also note that there are no close up shots of the hull / seams etc) or interior glasswork.

I am jealous though - he got a good crate with his - mine came in a hefty bag (where it should have stayed).

At least the seller was a little more diplomatic than I was "Thank you. I had know idea that he stole the design and the blata was just a recommendation. thank you for taking the time to express your views. Have a great day."

Yup, I noticed no close-up shots at all. A decent eBayer would show the interior and transom at the minimum in their ads. Referrals to the full-sized Cat don't do a thing for me if I were a potential bidder.

I don't see what you are upset about. They are just commenting on the horribleness of this hull that the 'master' is trying to sell.

I see your point but have to say I frequent forums where anything goes and have to say I kinda prefer a little restraint (when I show it ).

Keeps things on a level that is better for all users.

Sorry to see you go though.
