Default Miss Geico and a new GTX - testing day

Under a veil of secrecy today brought perfect conditions for testing of Petes new GTX (Purchased as a RTR from Expresscraft) and Phils Miss Geico.

While all did not go as planned it was a perfect day for testing and plenty of fun. Unfortunately Miss Geico had some tuning issues that kept her from getting in a full run it was great to see her lines in the water.

Petes GTX ran very well though a wet receiver/batteries following a flip ended his day prematurely.

I ran a few laps with my apache before the entire drive assembly vibrated free and was only held in place by a waterline. Never seen that before but the G62's have a reputation for vibrating everything off the boat (I lost a rudder blade off another boat while idling past the crowd one time).

Heres a few pics. [link=http://imageevent.com/justaddwata/rirun]http://imageevent.com/justaddwata/rirun[/link]

Phils cat still has a little more tweeking needed before her next launch - has some 3317/2 ABC props as well as 8517/4 propshop props.

Petes GTX ran great. Has a single Toxic Al Modded Zenoah. Light and fast. Only ran her with a stock 275 prop as she is being broken in. I think this is a simple yet potent combination in this hull. I am starting to rethink my own builds.

My Apache did good (running a 9515/2) but the drive hanging off the transom was all I needed to see to call it a day.

Larry - Monday was on the CT/RI border. There is talk of a coming social run and will let all know when

Yes, as the world grew around them, Eugene Toy&Hobby is right where it's always been. And, funny to say still pretty well stuffed to the ceiling.
(Picture the 100yr old 2story building surrounded by each side by 25 story buildings)

As for the Miss Geico 103, she's just about the most perfect reason I've seen to get into the larger realm. I would in fact like to see a 96"-108" hull with a pair of Neu 10kw brushless motors and A123 Lithium @20s4p (65v 9200mA) packs.

Our local lake is too choppy for my old SV27 anymore. I would like to lay up my own CF hull if possible but plans are hard to come by.... (don't exsist). The wife would lock me in the garage if I bought a block of foam and started to make a mess [:-]

This one only has gas motors (2 or 4 of them depending on how you want to do your math).

Pipes are made by Jerone of Jeronetune and are all stainless ([email protected]) - Very quiet pipes and good performance from them.

Gecko will be a little while away from getting wet Mart - still waiting for Phil to get me a few parts he forgot to ship.

Video is such a large, encompassing term. I like the way that sounds.
