Default Aeromarine Avenger Pro Build

The rookie chronicles...

It finally showed up (ordered on tuesday from Aeromarine, showed up on Friday; pretty quick) Im very excited about building my first gas boat and I think I picked a pretty good hull.

Engine is still undecided buy Im leaning towards a CC Racing 260.

The hardware is Top Secret; rudder and skegged strut...still waiting for them to show up.

Wish me luck, Im going to have alot of questions for the pros!

This is my "official" build thread.

I'm jealous... I got mine used and it looks like somebody painted it to celebrate Halloween. Black/Orange like a pumpkin!!! Luckily I got it cheap and has the hardware mounted already... Painting is half the fun anyways.

Good luck with yours and keep updating!

Im deciding what colors I want to do...your right, painting is going to be awesome. Im thinking about doing a fictitious "Ocean Spray" theme which is 3 shades of blue stripes and the ocean spray logo, or I might do an RCuniverse theme cause I have some vinyl logos. Well see what happens. Ill keep everyone updated.

Im having problems finding any "good" colors in a lacquer spray can.
Can anybody point me to an online site that has a good color choice for rattle cans?

I cut the air scoops today. What a pain. I used a router bit to get the overall shape and a sanding drum to clean them up. Took about an hour.

Blue can be a little hard to see on the water at times. But when the glare is shining in your eyes you cant see the boat anyway no matter what color it is LOL.

Weather is starting to show better numbers for sunday... [8D]

Do any avenger owners out there have the plans for this boat from Aeromarine? They didnt send them and I called about the plans and they told me they were waiting for them to be printed and would send them soon.

Installed the autobailers, ordered an s5050 high-torque digital 1/4 scale servo for the rudder and an s3050 high-torque digital servo for the throttle, ordered the paint, and most importantly, ordered the CC full-mod g260!

The radio box.

I used some foam from my futaba 3pks hardcase and cut it to fit the receiver, 7.4volt lipo pack, and 6volt regulator.

Heres a little update;

I got the Top Secret gear installed, installed the digital servos and added a divider in the radio box. Got the fuel tank in place and installed the water line bulkheads. I also secured the hatch with the Aeromarine hardware.
Its coming along nicely...

Got the base coat on today. Sprayed, wetsanded with 600 grit, sprayed again. Another coat tomorrow and then its time for the other colors.

This color is Tamiya TS-47 Yellow Chrome.
