RE: apache owners
The water was really rough out and thats why it might of seemed loose in the video, the corner before i start the straight away pass was the worst spot. In that area the hull would chine walk in that turn. When you heard the guys holler the boat was actually on its side and did not go over! I am going to add another set of trim tabs that will help out in the turns.

RE: apache owners
Hello from Sweden!
Some pictures of our Mhz Apache 60" with tuned Zenoah and Mhz drive. Still waits for some nice decals, the one with decals is Photoshoped.
Runs great, not that fast around 44knots.
verry short Mov-file [link=http://www.rcparts.se/filmer/Apache vs Renken 1.MOV]Renken Vs Apache[/link]
check out www.rcparts.se for our other projects MHZ Muscle etc.

RE: apache owners
Thank you.
It is the Chameleon paint that changes color depending on the light and angle.
It goes from blue to bronze.
Thank you.
Zenoha power pic taken before I had the painting done.
And of my 38 Scarab, close as I will ever come to the 41 Apache in real life.

What speeds are you seeing with that g-62? I like the old school offshore's, 38ft KV is probably my favorite Wellcraft Scarab, 41ft Apache, and the 38ft Cigarettes. I might sell my 56'' Aeromarine Apache WARPATH to build a different Apache.

RE: apache owners
I am told the g62 puts me in the mid 50's. i have never radar guned it. fastest i ever had it going was in the fox river...it was ruff and i impaled it into a slow no wake bouy. it stuck dead center in the bouy. Skuffed the paint on the nose of the boat. had to get on a pontoon boat and pull it out of the bouy. i was glad i did not hit another boat traveling down the river, it would have done some serious damage.

RE: apache owners
think you will find the G62 lacks the RPM needed to see speeds over 50. Typically they wont rev much beyond 13000rpm stock. And the Ballantine G62 is stock on the inside as a rule.
Think you would see her more in the mid 40's with a great prop. I have a few Ballantine G62's and they are very torquie and fun once you get them running. I have tried every prop I can think of but ultimately nothing more than 40's on the GPS.
She is definately not a boat you ever want on the same body of water as a full sized boat. [link=http://groups.msn.com/JustaddwatasRCBoats/assortedpicsothers.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=582]She could sink a full size boat no question[/link] (and you likely dont have insurance to cover that)

RE: apache owners
Well I hadn't really thought about this seriously as I only photographed this engine at work today in my old 57" Apache, but I just wonder if it would be worth pursuing 7+BHP gas turbine marine engine anyone !!!

RE: apache owners
I need some HELP. I need to figure the center of gravity on my 84" apache. Do you do it with the drives and engines in or do you do it bare hull? I have been reading. Is the caculation still between 27-29 % of the hull size or what. Or is this a guidline, I plan to install 2 quick draw 35cc engines hooked to 2 MHZ speed master S-6 drives. I already built 1 boat and compleatly screwed this step of the build up so this time I need to do it right. It looks great on the shelf but what a waste of money. Can anyone help with some info. Thank you. Tom

Tom,
this is from another boat forum and will help you alot. "...Mark out and mount your Hardware to the transom, using a Sharp Pencil works best. Take your time using a Square, a good straight edge and measure twice and drill once. Once all your hardware is mounted place “everything” into the Hull temporarily. This includes an empty Gas Tank, Engine and Mounts, Tuned Pipe and Mount, Radio Box and Mounts, Servos, Battery, Drive Cable and anything else your will have your boat rigged with when its completed. You may have to tape some of the items in place into the Hull to hold them until you mount them permanently. Place a Magic Marker mark at your desired CG on the Keel and place a Brass Tube or Wood Dowel under your boat at your mark. Balance the Hull and all its components on its Keel on the tube by moving the motor and other internal components at your mark until the Hull will teeter totter or balance on your Brass Tube at your mark. The higher the powered motor the higher (more forward) your CG (Center of Gravity) should be set. Once the Hull is balanced mark the location of all the items and start building and mount them permanently. 30-32% balance point of the total length of the hull itself is a good number depending on how powerful your engine is"

RE: apache owners
Thanks JT,
I plan to use 2 QD 35cc engines mounted to 2 MHZ speed masters. I'll try to get the pictures on here last time my daughter had to help, they showed up a bit large. She tryed. Thanks for the info.
