My $10.00 bench cooling system and my work in progress Stand/Transporter. Cooling works great you can adjust water flow from the "Y".

RE: New GAS Boats from Venom!!
I ran my KOS for about an hour yesterday. It was doing great, and the new smell of burning camp fuel was better than the gas smell. Then I blew the Prather silicone exhaust coupler. I dont get it. Ive gone through 2 stock black rubber ones, not the silicone! What am I doing wrong? Also in previous pics, you'll see that i mounted the gas tank in the center. Not a good idea. That left sponson needs that extra weight down there. Under throttle, its was definately leaning to the right.

If you change the motor, radio and go to a 3 bladed prop it's not a bad boat. I will have to say Venom has been good to replace defective items. Pull Starter still an issue though.

RE: New GAS Boats from Venom!!
seems like quite a bit of heartache for a $1k boat!!....maybe they can offer some upgrades for newer models....I have been nothing but smiles with my WHH Super G thus far and it cost half that....I love the looks of the KOS but with such a troublesome reputation as folks on here make out....I would be looking elsewhere....maybe its just the forum noise painting this picture??...but then again how many Super G complaints are there on here??...LOL....either way...KOS is a beautiful boat and should be made to run the part!!!...

RE: New GAS Boats from Venom!!
Hi,
Well, my experience with Venom left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I purchased a KOS when they first came out from Tower. When I got it it had hairline spider cracks in the hull and a gel-coat crack right where they mounted the kill switch. I took pictures of it, sent the pictures to Venom (I won't mentioned the guys name but he knows who he is that I spoke with) and, long story short, I was called a liar over the phone. They refused to honor any warranty work (the boat had only been taken out of the box, it wasn't even started at that point) but they did offer to send me some trinkets as compensation. I told them to stick it. I was even willing to have them send me another hull and I would take all the equipment out of my boat and i would switch in to the new one and send them the cracked hull back. No dice.
Never again, you could not GIVE me a Venom boat. I have kept my WHH boats and got rid of that POS KOS.
Just my two cents worth.
Pete

RE: New GAS Boats from Venom!!
Thats a sweet conversion. But I'd rather have a twin screw setup in a hull this size. On top of that, a bit of work needs to be done to the 55" KOS/Segad hull to make it electric worthy. LOTS of hole filling required. My main concern would be the air intake on top of the hatch. That thing loves to grab water and rip the cover right off at times. Even if that air intake gets filled in, i still forsee this as a major concern if making the switch. The flimsy clear windshield is major problem #2. It's not water tight at all from Venom (but not supposed to be). You would have to bend some acrylic and seal that, or just reglass it like Lolamon did. My personal opinion, if going electric, look at a different hull. This baby was built to breathe, and burn gas!
