The Futaba FASST system is frequency hopping.

That is what I use in my Nitro and Gas boat, I use to have JR, still have it and working fine in my buggy.

This question has been beat to death. The differance between the JR Spectrum and the Futaba Spectrum is that the JR locks on to 1 of 2 channels. If it has to switch it takes to long and will go into failsafe or the boat will take off. With the Futaba Spektrum the radio constantly changes channels so it allways has a good connection with the receiver. The channel hopping system is the way to go.

well the jury has reached a decision

i noticed a bit of glitching in the beginning in both boats....i realized that when the boat was coming towards me the bow was in the air and the small antenna could not see me commands.....failsafe mode....i proceeded to change the antennas and add a good 8 inches to the wire with a little solder.....

and and and....it work amazing, the range is great and no glitches.

i am very impressed.

not only with the radio but the pink beast, oh and by the way me being a noob and all i made a huge error with the piece of garbage gps in my shockwave, lets just say 51 not 7 mph was the max......this time i used a small handheld radar gun.....have not radared the pink beast but i assuuuuuume around 55mph.....

was talking to a motor head last night. he's also a rc guy. he thinks the problem could be that the plug is not a resistor type, and the wire is a solid core that will put out a ton of rf interference.

why not just put a inline fail safe like i (car peeps) use on my cars. if you loose signal the failsafe kicks the throttle to idle, or kills the engine. oops someone already said that. lol i think i'm pulling one off my impact, and installing it in my rio.
