Apparently there are a bunch of you in the San Diego area looking for others to run with.
I knew that I'd seen others asking so I went to the bottom of the page where it says "Search this forum", typed in "San Diego" and found lots of others looking for people like you.

Most of the people who run gas boats in and around San Diego go to the saltwater pond in Mission Bay Park.

Info on where and when is here:

http://www.sandiegoargonauts.com/

I don't know of any other places down there. I am in Orange County and drive up to Whittier Narrows Park to a place called Legg Lake. It is just south of the 60 Freeway on Rosemead. There is a 2-day gas race thee this coming weekend.

PM me if you'd like more info on that.
