Hi Steve, I think I would go pick some up from a hardware store, make sure you get them in stainless steel.

no washers needed, just go the hardward store to buy 4 of #8-32 x 1/4" tee nuts for the SM strut and 4 of #6-32 x 1/4" tee nuts for the SM rudder mount, they worked flawless.

Yea use those blind nuts eric showed you need plywood at back for them to sink into so make sure the transom has some in there orr add some. They never come loose ever .

Just for your info on my modded motor in the hydro i used locknuts for mounting to the rails and the other day one of the nylock nuts was loose i could see the mount move when i pulled the starter,so i will be removing those and using blind nuts. This was the first time ive used locking nuts for the mounts and i wont be doing it again thats for certain.

Hey Mart. I have been in the motor trade for 23 years and have never had a nylock nut come undone. are you sure the nut came undone or the timber you bolted through shrunk, causing the bolt to be loose????

Nyloc nuts & washers for me. I had the blind nuts in one boat & when it came to adjusting the strut up & down beyond the limits of the holes drilled in the hull it was a pain. I've never had a nyloc come loose, if they get old & the nylon wears away, they either need replacing or a dob of threadlock.

Nyloc nuts and flat washers for me too! Whatever you use check the tightness periodicly, stainless steel bolts stretch and your hardware will be loose![X(] Brian
