RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
Im doing some ordeing today. I remembered I dont have a failsafe. Is the Traxxas one the way to go? If so, I cant seem to find it for sale. Any ideas?
Hopefully my controller gets here today so I can test these servos I have. I might be ordering a new set of them also.[:@]
Thanks,
Beasley

Sorry Brett, my bad.
not Traxxas but the Dura Trax Micro fail safe.
you can find it on Towers.
Good fail safes are:
Dura Trax,
Futaba,
Venom.
I have seen and heard too many problems with the OFNA fail safe.
unless OFNA came out with a newer version it would not be prudent of me to recommend one.

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
Is my steering rudder angled to much. It turns fine so I guess it is supposed to be like that. I can change the angle by hand without loosing anything. Is that right?
Thanks
Thanks

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
Brett,
Eric is right, way too much angle.
you can have the rudder slightly back or slightly forward doing so changes the ride of the boat.
forward towards the transom will bring the nose up and away from the transom will bring the nose down.
How was your boat ridding with the rudder like this?

I think it rides good but I guess I dont really know what a good ride is, lol. It was like that in the video on my 1st post of this thread. If I lower it down, wont that slow the boat down? Jut seems like more drag..

Brett,
having the rudder kicked back that far is looking for trouble.
if it turned fine wait until you have the rudder straight. lol
try it at 90 degrees and look at how the boat is ridding, than play with some forward angle and back angle but not that much.

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
I got my new controller. Thanks again Dan! But it still does not work[:@] I set them both to channel 66 and I get nothing. I guess it is possible that the servos are shot or the reciever is shot. What would you replace 1st? Or do I just get all new servos and reciever?
Thanks,
Beasley

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
Brett,
glad you got the Transmitter and your welcome.
make sure once you set the Tx to the same channel that you turn the Tx "OFF" and than "ON" again (I know the Tx works, I tried it before sending).
do you have other servo's you can check with?
make sure the servo are connected properly in the receiver, JR use a different color coding and its easy to have them in the wrong way.
ensure the battery connection is good, and the pack itself is good.
and like you said it is possible that the receiver is dead. (bummer)
I would get it touch with the Ebay seller if I was you (maybe you did already)
30 to $50 bucks for a use RS300.
good luck.

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
I think the servos and reciever are both junk. This boat probably sat for a while before he decided to sell. Thats what it looked like. Probably got wet and then he never used it again.
I will just tart by replacing the servos and reciever so I know it wont have anymore problems.
Thanks for the help,
Beasley

RE: Monster Energy Cat Thread
Tested it on my revo and the reciver works!! Guess just the servos are no good. I will be ordering some new ones tonight. Does it realy mke that big of a difference on the servos?
Here is what was insalled on it - JR Z590M & JR Z270.
If it does make a difference I would be willing to spend around $100. Is that enough for a pretty good set and what do you recomend for that price and my boat?
Thanks,
Beasley
