submerged the box in my sink filled with water. not one drop of water made its way into the box. no radio box tape on this boat.

You need an aluminum velocity tube on that baby. WHH has them, I polished mine to a mirror finish.

Stuch,
Your boat looks great! I am going to be useing the same "radio box" in a boat that I am building so I was very interested to see how you mounted the box to the boat and how you arranged the contents. Nice job! You gave me some good ideas. Thanks. I do have one comment though. And I am only going to mention this to hopefully avoid a problem for you. I see where you have your antenna mounted. A friend did the same thing last summer and spent weeks trying to solve a radio problem. It turned out to be the antenna was mounted too close to the exhaust pipe. He moved the antenna and the problem was gone. I would hate to see such a nice boat get damaged due to a radio glitch!

thamks for the info. i'am still kicking myself in the azz over that. but i tested the system by walking away from the box and had a buddy see if it was glitching. it's fine. that futaba pcm for you imo its the best in the business. what system was you're friend using?

I can't remember exactly which Futaba system he had but he did the same test. It tested OK. That all changed when the engine was running!
Aparently the exhaust emits some kind of "noise" that was disturbing the radio signal. He moved the antenna a couple of inches away from the exhaust and the problem was gone!

the boat is fun as heck it tracks straight as an arrow hulls azz jumps wake and is happy doing it and loves wake from other boats. everyone on the dock said it wouldn't work putting a clutch in a true race boat like the seaducer. i proved them wrong. i told them i'll leave the heat racing to my hurricane mono.
