HI PAUL
THAT IS A SIX FOOT WW2 G-5 RUSSIAN TORPEDO BOAT. I GUESS I SHOULD POST SOME PIC'S OF IT TO. YES I DO HAVE MORE THAN ONE IRON IN THE FIRE. THE CATS ARE MY MAIN PROJECTS. I HAVE A BONZI ZENOAH FOR THE MAXCAT AND A VENOM FOR THE LCAT. BOTH I HOPE WILL RUN GREAT. I AM ALSO WORKING ON A 78 INCH WW2 RUSSIAN GUN BOAT BRONEKATER TO GO WITH THE G-5. IF YOU GUY'S WANT ME TO POST THE FRAMS I MADE UP FOR THE LCAT I WILL. KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL HAVE TO SCALE THE DRAWINGS FROM MYSTIC POWER BOATS TO SCALE WITH THE MAXCAT PLANS TO COME UP WITH WORKING DRAWINGS. I CAN NOT SCAN IN 72 INCH PLANS. JUST LET ME KNOW I WILL DO THIS. MARCEL SHARED SO WILL I. ALL THE BEST CRAIG

Hey there, I really like the idea and rather keen to see how it progresses ... I've been considering doing a small 'Mystic' clone myself (I love the shape and sleekness of that thing), and the Maxcat struck me as the best platform to begin with re scratch building.
But I'm still keen to see the final result from one of the many Maxcat builds on this site just too make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I get too much further along being I already made one slight mistake that has me almost starting over from scratch (impatient side of me came through despite the fact I should have known better) [sm=red_smile.gif]

Your gonna need more than one zenoah or venom not sure what the venom is? to push that big cat, most likeley twins or inlines just a thought .Looks like you know what your doing with the build though nice work.

HI MART
THE VENOM 26CC 4.5 HP ENGINE TOWER SELLS THEM. MY END WEIGHT ON THE LCAT WILL BE 18-20 POUNDS. SO I AM GOING TO TRY ONE ENGINE. THE 72 INCH MAXCAT IS GOING TO GET INLINES END WEIGHT ON THAT ONE LOOKS TO BE 25 POUNDS. I WILL POST MORE PIC'S NEXT FRIDAY. ALL THE BEST CRAIG

Dude, L cat is gonna be turd slow with the one engine unless it's got more grunt than that. I tried a 5.5 hp SIKK in my old MTI cat (60") and was unable to break 40 mph. I think 38 was the best she'd do. Bu speed isn;t everythng

Looking forward to seeing your progress

HERE ARE ALL BUT THE TWO FRONT FRAMS I WILL SCAN THEM IN AS SOON AS I GO BACK DOWN AND GET THEM. I CAN NOT SCAN IN THE THREE 72 INCH LONG BY 71/2 HIGH SIDE PIECES. IF SOMEONE WILL DO THIS FOR ALL THE GUY'S I WILL SEND THEM THE PATTERENS. THIS IS A COOL BOAT. AND WILL BE A BLAST TO RUN. THIS IS THE BEST I CAN DO. JUST LET ME KNOW. ALL THE BEST CRAIG

Hi Craig,

Good to see you made a build topic. I 'll keep watching the progress.
Nice to see how you will do the round sides.
But as I said before.....It's a BIG Cat!! It will need the twins to get higher speeds.
My guess is also that it will do no more then 40mph with a single engine, but I already warned you for that

HI MARCEL
YES I KNOW YOU ALL ARE STEERING ME RITE. BUT FUNDS ARE LIMITED SO THE MAXCAT GET TWIN VENOMS AND AQUACRAFT V24 RUNNING GEAR. THE LCAT GETS THE 5.2HP ZEN AND BONZI RUNNING GEAR. THE LCAT WILL BE A LOOKER UNTIL I CAN AFFORD AN INLINE FOR IT. BOTH WILL BE FUN TO RUN. THE ROUND SIDES WILL BE DONE WITH EITHER 1/8 BALSA SHEET GLASSED OVER OR 3/32. IT APPEARS TO BE AN EASY BEND. THE STERN WILL BE STRIPPED PLANKED AND GLASSED. I HOPE TO HAVE THE FRAM BUILT FRIDAY. TIME WILL TELL. HAVE FUN WATCHING THIS BOAT TAKE SHAPE. KEEP THE COMMENTS COMING, THEY DO HELP. ALL THE BEST CRAIG

Craig,

Sorry I could not get to the scanner yesterday it was in use all day. I did run a successful test today and we are good to go. Send me PM and we can talk details on how you want the pages scanned. I can also email you the test for review. The scanner is capable of scanning up to 36" wide by infinity.... at up to 2400 dpi. In color as well as B&W and grayscale

Well guys if anyone can help me post them I would appreciate it. When I tried but RCU will only accept file of 200k or less and they can't be PDF's or Tiff's. The files are around 270k in size.

Only gif,txt,jpg are accepted.

I guess if everything else fails they can be hosted on rapid share or someother site like that.

K, guys here they are, if this link is against any of the RCU rules please edit. The Password is "cheesewizz"

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AULPI5O0

All the credit for this should go to Craig, all I did was scan the plans. If you have questions regarding the build please direct them to Craig. He's the man.

Looking great Craig! Keep up the great pictures and thank you for sharing your project with us. Build threads are always fun and interesting to read, especially something completely different like your extra large cat boat. By the way, thanks for keeping the caps lock button off! Much easier to read that way. Happy Thanksgiving!
