SPD 3 Question for the pro's
Hello, Setting up my Team pro, i also purchased a aluminum tie bar, Does anyone know if the rudders should have any negative or positive toe to them. Negative being toward the hull. Or should they be dead on. from front to back. I have a set of calipers and it seems with the ball end's tight, There is about .30 differnce between the front of the rudders and the stern end just before the rudder starts to tapper. I thought i might need to remove the ball joints and trim a slight amount off the connectors so they line up perfect. Dual rudders on a real boat i know need to be dead on ! does it also apply to rc boats, Or due to the play in the system do they need some negative input to prevent them from bouncing back and forth slightly under power. Thank You !

Jamming,
set them neutral for starters but you will find the proper setting only after a few test run.
changing the angle of the rudders in or out will bring the nose of your boat up or down depending if you went negative or positive with the rudders.
Happy testing.

RE: SPD 3 Question for the pro's
Dan s Thank you for your answer, But what i am looking for is the rudder's themselves, If you removed them off the boat and installed the tie bar. Do they need to be exacly the same front to back or slightly toed in. Imagine your feet toed in or out or exacly straight. If the rudder is turned and one, is 36 degree's should the other one be 36 degrees, or should it be 35.9 on the trailing edge. Thanks for your help !

dead balls on/equal. i pull them away from the transome an inch it loosens the boat up and she runs alot faster. but i only think this pretains to the man-o-war.

RE: SPD 3 Question for the pro's
This is not the first time the question has been asked about the WHH boats dual rudder system.
Over the summer I tried them in all different positions to see what happened.
Always running them parallel with each other adjusting them in or out just planted the nose down if they are pushed in and if you pull them out the boat is very twitchy.
I am running an older revenge boat pictured below is my set up.
Also don't reef the bolts super tight leave them a little loose that way if you beach the boat or hit something them will push up instead of destroying the back of the boat.

Thanks for the tip on leaving the upper crossmember bolt just snug, Never crossed my mind, I will make sure it's not over tightened. Thank You !
