For those who wanna build the boat with Zenoah's : you might wanna consider to buy
RCMK rearexhausts.
As the tunnel beeing so high, the motor has to be positioned very high , in order to get the exhaust on top of the tunnel.
This results in :

One mhz boat $800.00, one Futaba radio $250.00, Two screamin turbines.....PRICELESS. I don't know if that's the real prices but I can assume this set-up is very expensive....

In not sure how wide the 72 or the 96 inch ones are, But imagine building two of these boats a Miss Geico (with Turbines) and a Miss BudLight with 2 of these motors which are 6 inches wide 8 inches high and 14inches long.

a pair of those V8's might fit staggered in a 96" fountain but would not come close to fitting in a cat - Look at Gerwins picture above and you will see how little space there is to work with in the cat - there is not much more space in the 92" cat.
Those V8's look cool and sound cool but I would not be expecting staggering performance from one. And I would also doubt it would appreciate running for extended periods at full throttle (unlike the turbine which prefers full throttle). Be nice (be it expensive) to try though

I believe MHZ C5000 is 4 inches longer,it comes in 3 sizes 113cm (44 inches), 185cm(72 inches) and a 245cm(96 inches).

Is everything on board to start the turbine? I know next to nothing about turbines, but thought they required a lot of gear to get started, in addition to the gear to keep them running.

Dont know a thing about them. I went to a few Top Gun shows here in FL when the turbines had just gotten started in planes. Seem to remember that they needed some type of external pressurized air tanks and power to start the turbine spining. I am sure somethings have changed since then.
Does anyone how they work? Links on what involved? Looks like the turbines spool up and some sort of clutch system is involved???

Only way you would fit a V8 into a cat would be to build your own and oversize the sponsons (or make it bigger scale) - either way the V8 (though a cool concept) would lack the performance and stamina to move the boat more than 30mph would be my estimate.

The MHZ C5000 may be longer but it also has LESS room than the HPR version - If a zenoah is a squeeze then the V8 is impossible. MHZ have proposed a 96" cat though nothing has been made yet. I again do not see any realistic way a V8 will fit in the cats sponson - I have a few 92" HPR cats and zenoahs are snug.

Okay 600 views of that video on Utube and at least 100 of them are mine.
My big question is what happens if you flip that in the water and it gets in the turbine?

It's just another 10,000 euros to replace the turbines. No big deal.....

Seriously though, anyone have experience with these engines in a marine application or know of some one who has experience?
