First coat of resin applyed to the hull, I had a pair of flush mounted water pick ups that I had laying around so I installed them too, Don't know if they will work first time ive use them ?????

Over the week-end hope to seal the hull completely so then maybe next week can start the painting.

Take care... Henry.

What are you using for the stuffing tube? I'm guessing a peice of 5/16 brass tubing for the liner, but not sure what size the stuffing tube should be? Ron

Nooh, not trying to cluter ur thread. I was intreeged by ur autobailers. I've been runnin mine, and it's a real pain to get all the water out of this hull. I also saw you drilled the keel side of bulkhead 4. This will pay off huge for u, nicely done. I'm in the process of modding mine. Here's my rig. I fabed all the harware, except for the SBD setup. Nice job on ur project by the way, looks pristeen. You'll love this hull, it can be pushed further than you would think. GITSOME!!!!! Sammy

There were a few glitches in the system earlier, seems that it's been taken care of. The admins have been working hard on the new editor toolbar that you now have. Just a little fine tuning was required.

steinersamuel...where'd you get those "Y" connectors on the water line. I've been looking for some, but all I can find are T's or offset Y's for vacuum lines...which will not work .

Thanks

Sounds like the bugs are hard at work Henry, Thats never a good time! Good luck with the resin, all will be well with the work I've seen so far. I used three coats of west systems on mine, I had plans for a paint sceme but could'nt bring myself to cover the pretty wood.
Twindaddy, I got the "Y" splitters from the LHS. I'm going that way monday, I'll pick up a few, I'd be happy to send u a pair if u would like, or if you have a pair of autobailers u could part with we can work something out. LMK

Hi Sammy.

Bugs in IE8, changed over to Firefox and seems ok so far. Will have to use this browser till admins can figure out the problems.
Any m8 Like your easy-vee I also will be giving it 3 coats just have one more coat to go then can give her a good wet and dry rub down ready for the primer, But I going for a rich red color, will go faster being red. lol.. And added twin bailers in the tramson as I hate water in the boats as well, I have a I Box and was for ever bailing the thing out, Last nite added the stakes so all coming on.

And RKS1949 I use a lenght a 3/8 s/s tube then use the 5/16 tube in side of that, just what the book said to do.

Lookin good Henry!! Just an FYI, the decking towards the transom after bulkhead #3 at #'s 4 & 5, after your final coat of epoxy mix up about a half ounce of epxoy and ad microballons to it for the "toothpaste consistancy", and use it to reinforce the decking at bulkheads 4 & 5. Flip it over and layit upside down and let it cure! I've ran mine only a handfull of times, I don't know if I was handleing it roughly or what, but at #4 its has come loose. This is what I did to fix it. Also a good idea to add another support dowl to the otherside of the hull. I did'nt look, u may have done it already. I hate bailing water too, seems like this hull holds the water well to beacause of the bulkheads. Lookin good though bud. Oh ya, a 500ml bag fits under the motor nicely!!. Sammy

Good tip m8, never even notice how weak it was around the top of the bulkheads, will reinforce now for sure, And only got the one rail installed so see how I go if I need the other one then won't be to much trouble to add it. As for the fuel bag Im putting it on the side of the engine makes it easier to burp the thing.
Got 2 coats of resin on so far adding the 3rd to-nite so getting to the serious bit now of sanding and painting (yuk hate painting, don't know how many times i said that here lol..)

anyway a couple of pics to show what the engine and pipe will look like when its all finished, hopefully not that far away.

Thanks Sammy, take care m8.

Henry.

I got the IE bug and had to switch to Firefox as well...

Thanks Sammy, I'm going to my LHS this weekend and see what they have. There is an industrial supply shop not far from them that may have stuff like that. Going to check them out as well.

Oi, still here, been having heaps of rain here in Sunny Queensland, um 412ml / 16 1/4 inch So the boat building has slowed down a bit, But today just added the first coat of primer to the boat.. after a bit of filling and another coat of primer and some more sanding should be ready for the final coat of paint,
Hopefully in a week should have her in the water... or if this rain keeps up might be sooner.

16" inches of rain! You don't need to build an Easy V, you need to start an Arc!

Scott had another 1 inch since, if you have plans for an Ark please send them to me urgent. ButToday managed to put on the first coat of paint so hoping when the sun comes out can dry her up enough to give her a light sanding then a few coats of clear.

And Sammy m8, what speed you getting from your easyvee

I don't have a gps or anything like that, I've had many gassers mosty Enforcer hulls. I took out the team pro with M5 motorout one night just before dark with the full size speed boat, I paced it at roughly 44 MPH. The eazy vee would run circles around that boat!! It's also much more predictable at speed (or on the ragged edge). My speed boat will run 52MPH flat out with 2 people in it. It will hang with the easy vee, but it wont run it down. That speedo prolly is'nt the most accurate, so I'm gonna go with the 50MPH mark. I'm runnin a stock sikk 25.4 motor with a hanson 2" band pipe, I've also got a clutch, and a WHH three blade by BUTCH T. Still have some pipe lenth tuning to do, but I doubt I'll get much more oomph out of her. If u tossed the clutch and the water pump, dropped ina mod zen and one of those high dollar props u couldprolly have a 55-60MPH setup without to much trouble. Trustme you'll love ur new hull, I know I love mine. I like that color to bythe way, can't wait to see her after a few coats ofclear!!Keep her going nooh. Here's a pic of the team pro. Sammy

The Color is called Cardinal Red Met made here in Oz for cars, don't see much metalic in her yet maybe that might change when I clear coat it, But I decided to give her another coat of red just to deepen the color a bit more, And Sammy if I get 50mph/80kph with my stock zen then I will be wrapped thats fast enough for me, So Im hoping nows that the sun is out I can fast track the painting and clear coating and start to get her ready for the hardware to go on. So maybe looking at Next week-end for her launch.

And m8 like your boat, funny I was thinking of painting the easy-vee blue at first,, nearly the same blue as your boat,, but somehow the red caught my eye..
