Thanks leebart121 and Good luck with your build m8.

This was its maiden voyage a few months ago don't know what speed she was doing and she did bounce around a bit, but have started to tweak her now and she is running faster, will up a later clip if some are interested..

First coat of resin applyed to the hull, I had a pair of flush mounted water pick ups that I had laying around so I installed them too, Don't know if they will work first time ive use them ?????

Over the week-end hope to seal the hull completely so then maybe next week can start the painting.

Take care... Henry.

Nooh, not trying to cluter ur thread. I was intreeged by ur autobailers. I've been runnin mine, and it's a real pain to get all the water out of this hull. I also saw you drilled the keel side of bulkhead 4. This will pay off huge for u, nicely done. I'm in the process of modding mine. Here's my rig. I fabed all the harware, except for the SBD setup. Nice job on ur project by the way, looks pristeen. You'll love this hull, it can be pushed further than you would think. GIT SOME!!!!! Sammy
Hi m8 the auto bailer work better if they are installer on the lower point of the transom this way when boat running the water go out the back of boat .here a good look at them

Hi Kennyach.

The autobailers work just fine and as for those flush water pick-ups they only cool the pipe and header, My rudder pick-up cools my motor so all is well, Thanks for your info too.

I just started my Easy Vee build ,a good looking hull. My 8 build mostly Nitro . Ya I am going to the dark side Gas. The build itself is cut out cnc all pieces are cut very close .The booklet is full of 48 pages of pics as well as some good advice. Would I suggest it as a first build, YES . The plans are full of good imfo to help you along the way. There are no complicated deck curves. Just like the name said easy. Let me post some pics This is 1 1/2 days of work. taking my time

Currious how these boats are holding up over long term sportboater useage.

Reason I'm asking is that my Rockett is unfinished (over two years now) and that I don't have experience with wood builds. Naturally the good stuff would be used.

The last race of the season& my EVee is still in first place. I didn't run her a few races due to a bad piston. But I have a new GZ2 kit. We did go over the hull and reset all trim-tabs. During the race season my rudder got knocked off center. the blade was angled to the left ,1/4" That has been fixed. the hull was too unstable. I did notice a pic of trim tabs that were way off a few post back. Nooh you need to get them trim tabs back to 1 1/2 off center line. The hull needs them trim-tabs to be right. I went back and evened the bottom of the tabs even with the bottom of the hull. Then add 1 turn down CKed the ride, back in and 1 more turn-down and so on.
PS my hull has 4 wooden dowel plugs because I didn't follow directions. When your hull is full on plane them trim tabs are too high to do any good. Very little of the bottom V is wet.
When I say WE I mean Joe Petro. I love running that hull again.

I use CA mostly but I epoxy down the top skin ,most all skins are CA CA is hard to sand ,so use sparingly thick CA for fillets

I only use CA for tacking, West Systems for everything else. I've found that CA is, in many cases, too hard and can cause the wood to fail due to the pounding from both running on the water and vibration from the engine. Needless to say, I'll spend the extra time waiting for the Wests to cure and know I don't have to worry about seams failing

Your right HJ CA can become brittle over time. pounding /vibration /bad driving. frame work is hard to epoxy, drippy messy. Thick CA at angled joints works best. The boat will need to be at a funny angle ,even upside down to get the fillet to look like a weld. Just take your time, practice. I'm old school SIG ,I'm new school also 30 min epoxy 5 min is OK for ply doubling
PS I won District 1 high points champion with my Zippkit Easy Vee. 260 PUM Zenhoa. GZ2 top-end kit,
Thanks to all my Friends for the help and advice. Joe Bob Craig Dick Roger. I came a long way in 2 years. Now Build boats ,practice, RC trucks clay short course. Keeping that transmitter in my hands all winter really builds confidence.

just ordered a Easy Vee. It will be my first boat... (mostly into planes). My question is, does the building board (the board you place the ribs in) come with the kit.
