RE: Apache build
Cheezewizz,
Keep an eye on that camp box you are useing for a radio box. I tried that same box and found out that it will not tolerate the vibration that is transmitted through the stringers. It cracked at the mounting holes that I drilled and it broke where the hinge pin is attached. I went with a "tupperware" type box that has a little flex to it. The lid has four snap over latches that hold it against a silicone o-ring seal. I have this box in three boats now and no problems. The picture of the green boat shows the box like your that broke.

Wow I cannot belive it's been a year since we made any progress on my son's Apache. Anyway if anyone can remember last year we talked about the paint scheme for Leo's boat. Here are is a photoshop of what he wanted and the almost final product. I just need to find some scale sponsorship decals and one or two more graphics and off to get clearcoated it goes.

RE: Apache build
Well guys she hit the water this Saturday. We didn't have a flex shaft that would fit the Speadmaster drive so we had to reuse the WHH setup. Here are a few pictures of the boat my son and I have been working on. Great fun this weekend with friends.
I think Leo is happy with the outcome.
