Glad to see the thread come up again.
Here is my OB tunnel to share with you guys.
Maiden run wasn't really good as there are quite a number of adjustment which need to be made before we see the full potential of this hull. This hull was fabricated from my race proven and race developed tunnel.
Really need to assess her performance before release to the market. Only one servo was used for the steering and the lowers attached was a 2brothers under the pioneer 29 with canister exhaust.
The hull was designed to lean into the turn which probably help the single servo operation turn the hull on a dime and more importantly listen to the input at the exit of the turn even on a full throttle.
Got a video of the maiden run but can't upload the pics yet till I have time to resize the pics on my new apple computer which I have yet to learn how to. lol.
Anyway here's the link http://youtu.be/PREOOVXk2ZA

Cheers all.

Hi Jim,
Try lowering your leg a little and see if that helps with the hooking,
All the best,
Dion.

Show pictures and we can try to help. Is it hooking or maybe not steering back. BIG difference.

Are you shure the servo's are strong enough to straighten the outboard? Getting out of the turn takes the most torque..

running 2 hitech 805 mg, they work fine on my ypc tunnel, it turns with no problem. I may have to move engine closer to transom.

Hi Jpelezo

Looking at the picture......their are two things that could well be causing the problem.

The boat's transom is set way beyond the sponson ends......that leg is built to perform with an 'inset transom'.....set in around 100mm from sponson ends.

The Leg seems to be set way to high.....the bottom side of the drive shaft housing should be touching the surface.

Regards
Dominic

I had a Gizmo GZ-2 motor laying around with nothing to put it in.  Already have 2 Classic Thunderboats, 1 DaVette Flat Bottomed Drag Boat, 1 Conquest Cat, and 1 Mono so I figured it was time to try an F1 Tunnel.  I picked up an Insane Outdrive and am having Don Shanks make me a wrap to center pipe for it.  Once the motor and outdrive are set up and running I am going to pick up one of Jeff's Insane F1 Tunnels along with his new dummy Mercury cowel.

I will post pictures when finished.  Since it is still snowing and about 5 degrees out here in Wisconsin I probably won't have those for you until April.

Mine came in at 9.6kg. It would be interesting to hear what other peoples hulls weigh in at.

Finally starting my F1 project. Here is what I have so far: Gizmomotors GZ2 engine, Insane Boats Outdrive, Don Shanks wrap to center Quick Draw Hot Pipe. Ordering an Insane F1 Hull this week along with Jeff's air scoop and Mercury Dummy Cowl.

F1TUNNEL:Not really sure what that measurement is as the hull has not arrived yet. I will take those measurements at some point and post them here for you. I do know the transom is set back into the hull quite a bit, positioning the trailing edge of the sponsons closer to the prop.MadDog

Hello all,

Recently aquired an Aeromarine tunnel with a lawless outdrive. Its nearly ready to go except some minor assembly and one more thing...a deflector for the carb! Where the heck do you buy these and or what are some sugguestions for making one?

I have seen a lot of good questions in this thread get passed right over without ever being answered because some people were too busy promoting certain products to help those of us without access to tons of info on these boats (i.e. Americans). That said, if anyone can take the time to help me out even a little bit it will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Justin

You can make one out of small Sullivan fuel tank, YPC made stainless ones, arrow shark and others also make them or you can make your own
