Velocity Stack
During help with my problem start, I was told to remove the velocity stack. So will I remove the velocity stack and there will be nothing attached to the 257 carb?
And why does WHH say it really works?

I also found this reading on carbs:

RE: Velocity Stack
Good marketing??? Have tried them myself with them on and off with a gps and have personally seen no difference in throttle response or speed. So I can say I'm not partial to having them either way. Iwill say that water spray may have a harder time entering the carb with one on.

RE: Velocity Stack
I have never seen one make any difference in performance either. I have been told they make it easier for water to enter the carb. Go figure.

RE: Velocity Stack
I have also ran with them on and off and with the GPS and have found little to no difference.
As far as water getting into the motor I seem to do that very well no mater what is on the carb.
One big advantage to not run one is that you can choke the carb with your finger much easier without it.
Also removing the carb without one in thee way is easier too.

RE: Velocity Stack
On a 257 it disrupts the air flow, on a 644 it works good. There are a lot of different ones made as well, but the one from Zenoah is for the 644.

RE: Velocity Stack
I agree with Mike, 644 with velocity stack, 257 without. That's from personal testing. The 644 on a stock engine & the 257 on a modified engine.

RE: Velocity Stack
I have one on my boat and I removed it too see what the difference was going to be.
With it off there was oil all over the inside of the boat and performance was not to great and the motor got hot.
With the stack back on needles back to where they were the boat is smooth and pulls nicely.
I am running a full Modd BH Hanson 23 ZEN

RE: Velocity Stack
They suck...pun intended...
I couldn't get my SIKK to run properly with it installed, and I checked everything.....it just didn't like it, so I took it off, and it ran fine...go figure.
They are purty tho...LOL!
Cheers
