pics:

radio box.. little block of wood is a handle to take top off... it hits muffler when muffler lays down... I dont have the connector thing that connects muffler to transom (my muffler only reaches end of radio box...) so yea pics are self explanatory

Hi M8..

Think your radio box might be a bit of a problem, For one thing looking at the Pics because of the size of the pipe it will be very hard to get any waterproof tape to seal it, even after you raise it onto your transom pipe holder. I went for the Aeromarine #13 radio box half the height of the zippkitt box and looks even better.

Aeromarine Fibreglass Radio Box with Perspex Lid

#13, 6 1/4" L x 4 7/8" W x 2 1/8"H, Flat Top
And I used the zippkit box as one of my prop boxes..

Good idea about the box....Ithink stacked has pretty much blown his budget on this project..I been helpin where I can Im gonna make him a pipe bracket to hold it 1.5 inches off the top of the box so should be able to get tape on it and not be to hot...
For being a newb and tackling such a big project I think he has done a fantastic job!
Cant wait till we see vid of it on the water!!!

Hey guys.. this shows what I did for water cooling using Steve's (Srw) awesome water manifolds. Also show the output thing for the water already screwed in the side. Then theres also a pic of the other piece that came with the outlet. How do I connect them? also what other places do I need water to go to on the engine besides the exhaust? There is one place on the black cylinder and a few on the carb. I also show how the flex calb eis like 100 yards to long. Thanks

As you can see Idrilled holes for pushrods.. put the lil black thing on the rudder... (is that the right way because I took this little silver cylinder offthe top and just bolted the black thing on because thats the only way I could get it to work) put that little silver pin thing on the servo.. and cut the pushrod to a workable size. the pushrod has one end with threads.. the threads wont screw into the black thing on the rudder or the silver pin on the servo 9 sorry for lack of better names I dont know them) how do I get the pushrod to stay in either end?

thanks in advance

edit: technical difficuties pics coming soon

Mistake # 3,823: lol used one of the throttle pushrods for the rudder (didnt realize they were different sizes)and cut it so now one of the throttle pushrods is going to be too short... hopefully hobby town will have an extra... oh well

Wow Stacked !

for a first build and to be a young man your doing GREAT work ! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

pretty cool that folk's thought enough of your skills to help you out with making water manifolds / fins for you , that's freaking awesome !!

don't know if you have your through hull fitting for the water outlet (cooling) yet , but you can use a pop rivet with the rivet pulled out of it and just epoxy it in place instead of ordering a fancy one , maybe you have one in the garage already .

best of luck and i will be enjoying the rest of your build !

Dan

Hey Stacked,

The build looks awesome so far. Does your dad have any air tools, like a hi-speed die-grinder with a cutoff wheel? If so, you are in luck, if not I'm afraid you might have to replace or repair your Dremel tool. The only way I know to make a clean cut on a flex cable is with a hi-speed cutting disc. If you try to use a saw blade of any kind it will only rip at the strands of cable as you work, leaving you with a real mess. If you could post some pics of your throttle parts I'm sure we can help you figure out how to rig it. Another quick suggestion, you can open up the hole in the transom where your rudder pushrod exits a little bit if you need more clearance for pushrod movement.

Thanks chief! we don't have a big workshop just a skill saw, dremel, some drills and a toolbox. but there is a local gas station we use alot and kind of know the mechanic. I will ask if he can cut if for me really quick. I can post pics tomorrow of the throttle gear. there's the servo with a horn and  2 pushrods. Then a few little plastic things.. I don't think I have the correct part to assemble to pushrods to the carb. I haven't really seen many pictures of what or how to attach the rods to. If anyone can post picture of the pushrods to engine that would be great. Steve, I don't get yours lol.

Thanks! oh and by the way.. I will need another pushrod.. do I get a 4/40 for throttle? (throttle needs 2 pushrods right?) will hobbytown have them? also do you guys know if hobby town will have the rubber plug for a gas tank or if they will at least have a gas tank that will come with the plug?

thanks again

stacked
