Default sprint cat or stryker????

I bought a used boat from a guy and he told me it was a 42 sprint cat, but after further exploration on this site, i've begun to question whether it is a stryker. I'm new to the boats and was wondering if there was anything I could look at to tell which one it could be?

I have been an avid boater at "full" scale all of my life, and it is common practice for a boat builder to either sell it'smolds, or go out of business and someone else buys in and changes the name of the hull. Sometimes there are suttle changes to either the bottom or top cap and then they can actually "steal" a mold from another builder and since there are "differences" to the mold, they are "leagally" a different boat. This may be the case in my situation....I'm not real sure.

My reasoning for this, is I want to squeeze every mph out of this baby, and like everything else, set up is everything!! I have been searching for set up tips on the sprint cat, but I may be barking up the wrong tree.

Any info would be greatly appreciated - scott

Some pics would help people be able to identify which hull you have?.

the Sprint Cat is made by Aeromarine and they are still around making boats,
you can visit there site and have a look at which sprint cat you have.

also, depending on how old the Cat is, Aeromarine laminates their sticker inside the hull with name and number (I think the name is there).

here is my Stryker for comparison.

yes, that is what it looks like from the rear and my cowl is cut back behind the cockpit.  are there any distinguishing marks that only the stryker has?

The stryker is 1" wider in the tunnel.

Look on the aeromarine website for the width of a sprint, then measure yours.

ok Scott,
I know who wally is now (Tahoe1970).

the Green and white boat are PPB Drag Cat, not the same has the sprint or the Stryker.

this is also one of wally's boat, unpainted Sprint Cat and I believe he had that cat in the low 70's mph, actually I think this one went 80 (don't quote me) but one of his Sprint did.

yep that looks just like mine. thise drag cats are some sweet rigs tho.... ok then, i'm satisfied that mine is a sprint cat. now with that out of the way i can get down and dirty with the set up. the guy i bought this from was roundy rounder so i'm sure it's pretty close to being right, but never know, technology changes all the time when it comes to anything that has to do with compitition and testosterone. lol! so off i go to start a new thread....

THANKS A LOT EVERYONE

That looks like a complete MidWest built boat, Cornell did that radio box set-up on all his builds.

Worst part is you don't know how fast you are going now? Get a baseline before you start tuning.
