I've been reading lately that you might have better storage luck by leaving a little gas in the tank and carb to keep the gaskets and diaphragms from drying up, also heard that tygon lasts longer with constant gas contact... think about it, most weedeaters and chainsaws have gas left in them and sit all winter, sure there are a lot of them that need carb rebuilds, but a vast majority of them work year after year...

If your running white gas then you dont have as much issue with draining gas as it tends not to go bad or gum up the carb. Worth noting that if you use an IV bag as a fuel tank that you need to keep it at least 1/3rd full of fuel (and no air bubbles in the bag) to maintain its softness.
I spray the motors inside and out with corrosion X
Remove TX and RX batteries
remove, clean and grease the flex cable

Hey Firemandan,
How goes the new engine break-in? You have a nice brown color on your spark plug? Hope the oil mix is working out good for ya. As for me, whenever I store my small engine equipment, I use Sta-bil in the last tank of fuel...years of trouble free service with my weedwhacker, leafblower, and lawnboy mower. Whenever I put my gas boat back in the house I drain all the fuel from the tank and put a couple ounces of kerosene in the tank and exercise the primer bulb to purge the gas from the carb, then I drain out the kerosene. No noxious gas fumes and the kerosene doesn't gum or varnish. I also squirt WD-40 thru all my water passages to prevent corrosion of the cooling jacket. Hope this helps.
