Hey Robbie,
First off congratulations on ur choice of gassers. You will have years of fun with your Magnum57. I was so luck I happened to choose Enforcer by Warehouse Hobbies as my first boat. The Magnum57 was my learning boat and WOW the stories I have about the gasser learning curve.. Anyway I can relate to the total first week of emotions of learning about running a gas boat. It’s hard when u learn by trial and error. Do yourself a favor and watch Toni’s full throttle on his web site. As many as you can and you will learn a lot. My son and I have had so many different boats now and still every time we go out and run them we learn something new. We have wasted a lot of $$$ looking for a better boat but every time we get one from another manufacturer we sell it and go back to the Enforcer. You just can’t beat everything about this product as far as a sport boat go’s. And now the Silex I guess is making a hit with the racers. Thanks to RCU and some killer help from guys at our local pond were just now learning how to dial a gasser in for some real fun. Enjoy the hobby it’s a great one.

Tony sells them. Real life vests so if they fall out of the boat they won't drown.lol

we installed the M-5 in the red mantaray runs awesome but the guys at the pond said after all adjustments we made on the surface drive and the rudder it still needs to get the front up a little more[] we ran it with around a 1/2 tank of fuel. That helped a little. But they all agreed I should move the fuel tank back until it almost kisses the pull start[X(] What do you guys think. Will this realy help ???????

Hmmm dunno about that one Joe.
Maybe the Mantaray is designed to ride more wet for stability....etc.
Are your trim tabs down too low?

Maybe removing the tank and using one of those light IV bags but I probably wouldn't do that either.

Gotcha, yeah I think it riding a bit more wet is what makes that boat so stable in chop and wakes...etc
even if you had it running dry like mine was it would be more unstable and I doubt you would get the speed increase that would be expected.

Yeah Im going to be taking it out as long as it doesn't rain, I emailed you too!

I have the mag 57 (similar to the Manta Ray). I raised the tabs all the way up ,set the drive to +2deg and moved the tank up against the pull start running a 2 blade 75mm prop. Runs around 42mph.

That's pretty good. What engine do you have?
What kind of wind / water conditions? I would think it have to be pretty calm to prevent blowover.

I run the M5 Mod from WHH. Rough water & windy conditions are really no problem for the 57. I also sanded the finish off the bottom of my hulls Makes for a real slippery riding surface.(something we do on all of our race hulls). Choppy water is always better for speed. It breaks the surface tension on the hull.

Hey chapparral, did you go to RCMK from a stock or mod Z? Are you seeing about the same performance as M5 mods?
Just wondering with a new purchase which would be the best engine choice.
Thanks

This was one of the vids I watched prior to my decision to get a Mag. Loved it.
Are you saying the boat already came sanded?
