Who makes a nice cat hull?
Looking to build a nice cat for recreational use in various conditions.
Who makes a quality catamaran hull? I will not be racing, but want a good all around boat.
Tia!

RE: Who makes a nice cat hull?
i've got a 42" aeromarine sprint cat and i love it. It's got a modded 23 zen and i've gps's it at 47.1. it handles the chop decently and has only blown over on windy days. many guys race circle track and run SAW with these hulls. they are very fast and handle like they are on rails.
good luck

RE: Who makes a nice cat hull?
By far the best cat hull out there is made by HansPeter.

The guy is surgical with the building of his hulls. They cost more but believe me they are well worth the cost. No bubbles, no chips, the hatch has the same 1/4" all the way around including corners......they are nothing short of amazing.
You will not be disappointed I can promise. Personally I don't think anyone has made anything in the US that even comes close. Compared to my Expresscraft hull it was almost a joke. But they don't cost as much.
Comes down to how much you want to spend and how nice you really want your hull to be.
I have pics of my old one if you'd like to see them PM me.

RE: Who makes a nice cat hull?
For the most part, the old saying "you get what you pay for" is alive and well. The hulls mentioned so far I think are good choices, but the best value in my opinion is the Falcon.
You just can't beat the $213 shipped to your door. The gel coat is almost perfect. There are multiple color choices. The seller is great to deal with. The seams are very small. The hull is true and straight. The stringers are square. They can be set up for SAW (I was able to get mine over 70 after 2 outings with it) or you can set it up for handling. I ran mine in some fairly decent chop at 55 without any problems. They do slide in the corners but I think this can be remedied with a skeg strut.
The only negative is that the lay up is a bit light. I reinforced mine with CF and had some pretty nasty blowovers at 70+ without damage.
The nice thing is if you find out you hate cats, your not out alot of money and as cheap as they are you could turn around and sell it with the hardware as a ARTR and get probably 2/3 of your money back.
My 2 cents
