RE: hurricane cat 4
check the location of the strut, is it dead center? it needs to be a little offset towards the strbd side. This will help ot counter react the prop walk.

are you asking if the rudder can be moved to the center? yes. If the strut is not in the correct location you will still have the same problem. Did you buy the boat new or used? Are the sponsons true? Does the boat have any twist?

Yes turn fins can cause the trouble seen that many times. But on a cat, turn fin is not needed. There is skegged strut that is made for cats, that has a fin on it. RE: hurricane cat 4
OK, I see where you threw people off as at first I thought that you were typing about a Catamaran, not a Category 4 hull which I've never heard of it being called that. What you probably have is one of Chris' Hurricanes.
First off, I don't know why you're using a skegged strut on a mono as it shouldn't need one and that might be part of the problem. Usually the problem is the boat wanting to pull to the right. I'd hate to tell you to get out a saw and but the skeg off but that's what you might have to do but wait until someone smarter than me replies.
My only other thoughts would be to see if you have a strong rudder servo and 4-40 rod for linkage, sometimes obvious questions but I gotta ask. A weak servo and 2-56 piano wire can make a boat do strange things.

Jeff Daft runs Herzog racing Products and would be able to tell you exactly what works on this boat. I've been dealing with Jeff for some time now and he is very good at what he does, and I just realized how he sells his boats. [link=http://www.herzogracing.com/_sgg/m4m1_1.htm]Herzog Racing[/link] Category 1 through 5 is the level of completeness of the boat, if it was a cat IV contact Jeff and ask him for advice.

great news .....i spoke to jeff at herzog and from what i had told him and thefix he came up with was the rudder was put on the transom over 1 inch to far to the rite ...so i took it all apart and filled all the holes with resin and moved it to where it is suppose to be....now i just have to wait for the water to get soft again in april to try it ....hahahaha here are a couple of pic ..in the first pic you can see where the standoff was placed...as per jeffits just to far off

I'm just wondering how the rudder linkage was hooked up being that far over! A rule of thumb that I use is to place the rudder directly behind the stringer, i.e., 5" wide rails, 2-1/2" offset.

thats the same thing jeff had told me..i sure hope it solves the issue
