My radio box is right back against the pull start with just enough room to tuck the pull handle between the box & coil. The engine placement looks about the same. My Gizmo mounts let me have the radio box right back which was lucky, otherwise it would be under the foredeck.

I just rang the guy about the pipe, he's going to have a look at it next week. Hopefully soon after that I'll have the pipe mounted & get the COG set up spot on.

Hey Scott.

I did a test ballance, with it as is it ballances at 275mm (30%), with an ali pipe and a fuel cell with ~ 200ml in it, it ballances at 260mm (28.4%). With the steel header & steel pipe and full tank of fuel I think I'll be back behind my target of 250mm. For a 36" boat that is 27.3% which is what Craig was running on his swashdrive.

Indie's too old, try Rick O'connel (played by Brendan Fraser) from "The Mummy"!

Guys I'm not seeing too much mentioned about the MHZ Jet 2 pumps
Any downside to these versus the Graupner unit?

Hi,
Looking for some advice: just ordered a DaVette Jet Sprint boat and my first choice would be a Swashdrive but…I know I’ll never find one so my choices are between the Graupner 5,2347 and the CNC Precision Jet Boat Drive - X-Large
sold by Hobbyking and others.
I have a RCMK S-254 EVO for power. Ideas are welcome.
Thanks,
thefarside

I just went to the site I saw it at and when you click it... it's just another redirect (pain) site to HobbyKing.
Sorry about the missleading info.

I decided I should have a go at repositioning the baxter bag under the engine. I got it under there no worries, but I can't fill the bag as full which isn't an issue as I never ran a full tank through anyway. I put some more floatation where the fuel bag used to be & now the longitudinal balance is almost spot on along the keel. This should make the boat handle better in a straight line. I just need some time to go & test it out now.

The first 2 pics show the new position, the last pic shows where it used to be.

Interesting, I would love to see how one of these comes out!  My family has a recreational jet boat, so I know the dynamics of it if you have any drive questions.  Where did you get the jet housing from?

The jet pump in my boat is a Swashdrive Gen II pump, no longer in production. If you go to Modeljetboat.com there is a whole heap of info on there about the variuous pumps available commercially as well as a few one off builds and a whole lot of jetboat hull designs and several project builds including mine.

Hate to say other than trying to build one yourself or you are lucky enough to get one on Ebay, don't think you will get one for under about $300 USD. Keep an eye out though as they sometimes come up on these forums.
How's your boat going now Dicko?

Are you part of the brisbane club by anychance?

Hey Mick,
Yes it is a plug and I built the hull to accomidate the the Hobby king or MHZ pump
I know pump choices are limited and depending on weather the Hobby King pump is going to be any good or not , there are not too many other options to choose from.

I noticed that there are a few people having CG problems with the 36" hulls so I set the transom back another 1/2 inch.
In the pic the black line was the origonal transom and the extention sits at an angle so it doesn't form part of the keel.

I haven't had time to get it out for a run since I painted it. I want to get out this Sunday if the weather is good.

I moved back to Adelaide about a year ago & haven't been to the BMMC since then. I know a few of the guys there though.

I'm hopefully going to get started on the DaVette Jetsprint build this weekend too. We decided to put the MHZ jet in there after all & get another hull if we ever get a hold of a better jet unit. The build thread for that will be on Modeljetboat.com like my swashdrive build was.
