Default Viperhull 56 Apache

Hi Everyone, Was not going to do a Build thread of my 56 Apache as I'm flat out doing other things, Life gets that way sometimes, But a couple Members said do it so here I am.
I'm in no rush to build this one so just going to plug away at it when I get some spare time,, spare time
I picked up the Boat from Tony who made it for me from his Viperhull Factory about 5 or 6 weeks ago now and just managed to put a coat of paint on her, Didn't come out too bad then again I'm no painter but It looks ok. The engine going in her is a Omen Mod Zenoah, I have an Omen in my Cat and they do Scream these engines so im hoping to get over the 90kph mark,, will see.. Oh and forgot about the Crew they are Tom, Dick, and Harry, what else LOL.

Henry.

Oi Mike mmmm Think you need a bigger boat if your going Fishing..

Mart, The lake in found of my home is a Cable Ski Park, Not allowed to put my boats in there, Big NO NO, Really I don't mind I just sit there and watch the girls go by..Beside I have two lakes just down the road at work.

Hi yamahatech, Got to have the Drivers, I brought them before I got the Boat..

Hi Chris.

Remember we had a chat About our Builds, Well decide to go for it,, Helps the Forum tick over.

Had a spare few minutes so decided to paint the Inside,, Black,, Makes things stand out better I Think, Also made some Hand rails for the Boys, Something for them to hang onto..
They told me they were Very happy so far with the Boat.. Boy things us Boat Builders do

Take care Chris and Thanks..

Hi Henry

Great build thread[sm=thumbs_up.gif]. Love the Apache hull for the semi scale look.

I have the same driver and throttle man as you

They are great scale looking and I love the look in their face. 2 things to watch out and worth reinforcing are:

1. Where the arms connect to the body. Its just a piece of wire and get loose over time.....
2. The screw or nut inside the driver may come loose. A bit of epoxy should fix that.

What hardware will you using Henry?

Cheers

JC

Yes its an Enforcer from Warehouse Hobbies. I've always like the Apache hull for the semi scale look and rough water handling.....

Henry have you considered using an outdrive on your hull? That would make the boat very scale looking. An outdrive on an Apache hull do seem to complement each other nicely. I'm kinda considering that combination as my next build......

I suppose The Outdrive would look the part But hate to think how much they would cost here in OZ, But M8 going with the stinger which is Just about on the boat.

And Shane sure your Apache wont be to far away..

ive been very happy with ground hound frienght sofar, the boat only left tony fom viper hulls on the 24/12/09 and its been half way aound australia i should of payed extra for a window seat as it would of been a nice trip around australia, but the apache is in perth as we speak, so it should only be another few days to my location i quess/hope.

Ive had no problems with ground hound ive been getting calls from them to update me on its progress and ive found tainya from the call desk to be very helpful, and at this stage i would recomend greyhound frieght.

George at hobby depot has the MHZ outdrives, he has the twin setup on his website for 1400 or so, I didn't see the single one on there though, you could call him & ask.

I'll be ordering a heap of gear off of him this week, woohoo, new boat to add to the fleet....[sm=shades_smile.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Hi Chris

Seems about 32% COG, With the Engine mounted the spark plug should sit about 395/400 mill from the back of the transom, But this will change a little as I start the build.
And you just about Finished your Apache, you don't muck around m8.
Waiting to see the Maiden m8,, Good Luck.
