RE: My new 58
Hi ive been busy making a new mould for the Navaho style decks, heres some pics of the plug fastened to a board all waxed and ready for moulding.I gave it 3 coats of tooling gel then started glassing, shes had about 6 layers of glass now.
All i need to do now is add framework for a stand ,it will also keep things straight when im making the parts.

Mart,
I have not been posting much, personal issues have gotten in the way. I just wanted to say that deck looks great while staying true to the original style.
On a side note I have hit a brick wall as far as shipping goes. It seams there is no way for me to get these hulls over here economically.[sm=disappointed.gif]

Oh, I see you are using more cloth lately in your layups........good choice. Thoes strips mkae those rail installs MUCH easier, don't they!

Cheers Scott,
ill look you up on there, yes i mostly use cloth now as these were built specifically for racing but they make a great quality sports boat too.The layup consists of on layer tisue, one layer 300 csm mat one layer 450 cloth.
Makes for a very strong hull but still reasonably light, had a guy whos been building model boats and real boats for 20 years look one over at the races and he tried to twist it and couldnt.
He gave me the biggest compliment imaginable by saying they were one of the best hed seen in his 20 years of building boats, that made me a little embarased but had me smiling [sm=red_smile.gif]
I have a good friend to thank for getting me lots of buisness by simply getting one out there at the races and people seem to really like them ,there should be 4 racing at a big weekend race event in August so ill be sure to post some videos if i can.
So i cant complain things are going well,i have a few new projects in the pipeline too that should do well.
