probably only 48" long by 18" wide. maybe 55 including all the hardware off the back. cant pin point the manufacturer? motor is a zenoah G2D.

Welcome to the Forum!!

I am not sure Microburst ever made crackerboxes. Boat is a crackerbox. Dont know whos though. I would be willing to bet it is more likely 10 years old - not 2 years old. The old zenoah was superseded 10 years ago though.

Be a fun boat though - crackerboxes can be a hoot!!

It's not a Microburst, this from a former Microburst owner as they only make deep Vee mono's, no C-boxes. One sure way of it not being a Microburst is that they use no wood in their hulls as the engine rails and transom doubler are composite pieces.
The Homelite is either a 25 or 30cc, most likely the 25cc.
I'm more curious about the strut and rudder as I've never seen that brand before or else it's home-made.

I believe that model Zenoah was only available as a 23cc. I had a dozen or more of those little old zens (mine were all air cooled). Nice little motors (in their day/20 years back) but the aircooled version would overheat easy and lose a little chrome off the bore near the exhaust port rendering them inoperable (lucky I had so many on hand!!). I cannot say if the problem will exist with your motor - no experience with the water cooled jug. They also had a micro small carb port though yours may well have an upgraded version. As I say - that motor is likely more a piece of history rather than a 2 year old example (which would be the current style zenoah as they have not changed in a few years) - I purchased mine from a clearance center more than 20 years ago. Motor looks to be in very good shape but the oxidizing on the aluminum hardware gives it a patina that looks pretty old (yet very original).

Seller may have had the motor in a closet and installed it in a new/er hull - or the whole setup might have been stored for years/decades. I have not seen anyone selling that motor in decades - so parts availability might be of concern. Some items look new/er. The walbro waterpump looks quite new. As does the fuel system. The exhaust looks reasonably new and I am not sure that style was around more than 10-15 years ago.

As i say - I am not going to come straight out and say nothing there is more than 2 years old - but everything I know about that motor indicates an age counted in decades - not years.

Have you seen the boat running yet? I would think that motor should move it ok (sport speeds) but think it might be one of the slower boats on the pond.

Overlooked your prop and muffler questions. I would leave the muffler on - never will complain about the boat being too quiet - and many a pond has been lost due to excess noise (your always better off avoiding unwanted attention).

As for a prop - I would try a Prather 270 prop. Be a very good starting point.

Thanks for all the info. This is realy a good forum. I havent ran it yet its being shipped to me. The hull was custom built in canada 2 yaers ago and was put in the watter for the first time last year. The exhaust is a new wet system so it's probobly not tuned yet. The engine was pulled out of storage and has few runs on it. Noise realy isn't a issue i own a 6 acre pond in my front yard this will be my first gasserl, I've owned nitro's in the past.

Hi Dave,

Looks like this thread has taken a turn which will be a little confusing for anyone looking since we started out talking about a cracker box and now it is a cat. I agree it is probably a better buy than the Cracker box.

I believe I saw your cat at the WRAM Show in NY. It had the hatch on so could not see what was on the inside. Nice looking boat though
